Taxidermy From Bullseye Taxidermy has arrived

Great animals! The carving on the wildebeest is impressive.

The engraving looks like it was done with a CNC, very precise. I've reached out to 2 taxidermists, one in metro Denver, and the other in Rhinebeck, NY to see if they know of a US taxidermist who does that type of work. Does anyone on this forum know? My wife thought I should do my blue wildebeest as well.

I think that engraving looks like it was done by hand, not by CNC.

I do know of a very good engraver in the US. I was thinking about making a post about him but I didn't want it to come off as an advertisement, schilling for, or to go against the forum rules since I am sure he isn't a sponsor here.

Edit to add: His style of engraving is typically not all the way through the bone like that, but more like "embossed" and "debossed" look.

My crate just arrived, where you able to find your sci scores sheets that were included?

The one thing I didn’t have in the crate was any paperwork. No SCI scoresheets nor anything else

Lovely mounts, wildebeest is next level. Bulleye’s did a handful of animals for me in 2022, I was impressed with their work. Thank you for sharing these pics, I always enjoy seeing what others have done with their mounts!

People make recommendations on outfits/PHs that aren't sponsors on here all the time. Really not much difference as i see it.

There was a guy on FB doing it. I reached out to him but his stuff was way more expensive than the OP's $150 per skull.

Finally finished up my own shield mount so figured I would show the photos. The taxidermy was completed by Bullseye in South Africa. I mounted the pedestals and made the shield mount and spears myself.
Super happy with Bullseye and glad I went with them over the PH recommended taxidermist

Beautiful mounts and woodwork. There's something very satisfying putting your skills into the final product. Great job. Can you give some details on the shield and spears - size, type of wood, etc? I'm think about a shield for my springbok, blesbuck, and bushbuck Euros whenever they come in.

Nice woodwork!

I must’ve been out to lunch when this was originally posted, I really enjoy the taxidermy threads. Taxidermy is my addiction!
Everything looks great and it’s always good to get them up on the wall to bring a safari to an end except for the will to go back and the memories.

Beautiful work on the shields and pedestals

So to be clear..... the pedestal is an old end table I got on Marketplace that I thought would work out well. I added the African maps on the sides and may change them to just darker stained wood rather than the zebra stripe painted ones seen in the photos.
He Kudu is actually mounted higher now as I added a spacer to get it up and back more.
The shield is a large piece of red oak that I cut out and routered to give the appearance of the different wood. I then stained the panels and boarders with different stain and used black paint to get the inner groves perfect. The spears are just mild steel I cut and ground and welded to a 3/8 rod. I attached them with rubber insulated wire hangers and added a sawtooth hanger. The skulls are actually really easy to mount just locate the center of the board and where you want them and drill a hole at the right spot in the back of the skull. Key is to use screws with a straight shank( no threads ) at the head so it doesn't twist. Tighten by hand into the skull and all good.
Of course some poly on the wood also.
Wood was $80 and with stain and the metal, hangers .... all in wa probably about $120.

I like the zebra print ones. The pop of color is a nice contrast.

I have a crate coming in early Jan 2026 from Bullseye. I had seen examples of scroll work on skulls prior and asked Craig if it was possible... Yup no problem was the answer. I had my Buff skull so adorned... I will attempt to post when the crate arrives in Alberta, Canada.

Phillip I was reviewing some of the auctions online and saw your Nubian Ibex hunt coming up this weekend. It also showed you have Addax and Axis deer. Is there a website I can go to and see the lodge, cost of animals and what is available? Thanks Mark

I really like that knife you're selling. It looks so similar to my original 1306 that has been around a long time. I can't spend that much but if you get to a point where you'd entertain offers let me know. Thx, James
