I'm looking for Woodleigh 450NE 480gr bullets, both RN SN and FMJ (catalog numbers 24 and 25). Anyone have any they'd like to sell?

Bringing this thread back to life. Now just need RN SN bullets.

I'm looking for Woodleigh 450NE 480gr bullets, RN SN (catalog number 24). Anyone have any they'd like to sell?

These are for my Rigby 450 No 2 Nitro Express.

TIA.

I would love to see some pictures of your Rigby 450 #2. I have a Rigby 450 NE made in 1905

I’d love to see some pictures too! ;-)

Probably sometime in January. Currently being built. :)

I'm sorry that I don't have any bullets for you but I just wanted to share a photo of a fired bullet recently recovered. I don't own a 450 but my son recently fired one in Australia it was our guides gun that was loaded with the Woodleigh .450 480gr bullets, RN SN (catalog number 24). My son used it for a finishing shot on an Australian buffalo in the chest at about 10 yards. We recovered the fired bullet and it has to be the most expanded bullet I have ever seen, take a look at the photo below, the .450 bullet is the one at the top of the photo, this is serious bullet performance. I should take the time to measure and weigh this bullet.

Good luck in your ongoing search.

Champlins lists some but sometimes don't update when sold.
Thanks for checking. Believe it or not the .458 (24A) for the .458 Magnum is not the same as the .458 (24) for the .450NE, and in my case the .450 No 2. The latter is .005 inches longer, How does that matter I can’t say but it is enough of a difference that Woodleigh made the two different sizes. And since the new gun is being regulated with the .450NE bullets I should use those bullets. But thanks again for checking.

I thought the only difference was the location of the cannelure? In fact I don’t know why they just put two cannelures on the same bullet and just crank them out.
