Alternatives to Wall Mounting Euro Mounts

One of the guys here in Germany has a galvanized bucket he filled with concrete about 6 feet tall and he has skull-hookers bolted to it. He has about 10 or 12 skulls on it.
I have a friend who did the same thing. He took a 6" cedar log cut from his backyard and screwed a few 2x4's to the bottom as a base, he now has multiple game heads hanging off the pole. No holes in the wall.

I made these 2 from cedar posts. I have maybe $50 in them since I scavenged the posts for free. Could also be done with 4x4 posts

Sorry. Reading comprehension. Thought it was just ideas for euros.

No harm! Because I love your set up. What a beautiful elk that is. Make a hunt report of him!

The skull hooker tree is great for the smaller heads. I have a gemsbuck on the bottom of one of mine but you need a bigger hook than what comes with the tree. A regular skull hooker hook purchased separately. Works great and enough weight in the base to keep it steady.

That's where I was thinking of using a 4x4 cedar post that has had the edges trimmed. Then for the base I was thinking of using cedar 2x4's screwed to the 4x4.

In the end it should be quite sturdy for the mounts.

The Skull Hooker tree was just a idea that a person could work from

Another vote for the SkullHooker tree for the mounts smaller than Gemsbok.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
