Don't know anything about him....but seemed to have had a pretty good idea on how things were heading...opinions..

His predictions on future leadership might be the only thing he ever got right… and even then it took 40+ years to come to fruition..

Jimmy Carter was probably the single worst president in US history on foreign policy.. Brzezinski was the man advising Carter on much of that failed foreign policy (the Iran Hostage Crisis is one example)…

OK thanks..as said never heard of him..

Wow......court blocks tariffs

This is a fascinating decision.

The court used the same reasoning that stopped Biden from doing loan forgiveness and struck down a number of significant EPA regulations.

When this gets to SCOTUS I expect the Center right justices will be really conflicted.

Another perspective is that it might be the US constitution working as it was designed to work. The Founding Fathers were afraid of nothing more than tyranny, having had the recent experience of King George to guide them. So they set up a system - which has come to be called “checks and balances” - to ensure that tyranny never took hold in the US. No President or branch of government would ever have the power to rule according only to their own will.

Being elected was never, and is not today, an indication that the winning office holder’s position on any issue was or is constitutional. And while US courts have been and can be somewhat political from time to time, overall, the system of checks and balances has worked well for over two centuries.

Those with some background in history might recall the troubles the FDR had with the Supreme Court, and that one of his proposed solutions was to increase the size of the court to pack it and try to get decisions to go his way. That obviously failed, but the lessons are there.

LOL.......all of that worked out real well against the politically weaponized Biden administration....eh!

What we are dealing with in this country, is a judicial coup. Fueled by the deep state to stop Trump any way they can.
You actually have that backwards. You have a President who does not respect constitutional norms and thinks he is a King. Which I think you guys got rid of some time ago.

Or, to give it a more generous reading Trump is trying things that other Presidents have not, and people are trying to figure out what really is within executive purview and what is not. Trump is entitled to try and push consitutional boundaries if he thinks it is the right thing to do, but he is not the final arbiter of where those boundaries are.

In some cases, what he has tried is clearly ultra vires or unconstitutional, other cases are more grey and will take some work to figure out.

Explain to me why I would care about a Canadians point of view over american politics? GTFO.

It did. All sorts of court rulings stopped Biden from doing things he wanted. Or did you miss that?
It didn't stop the political lawfare against Trump or any of the dems political enemies, open borders, leftist degeneracy, or many other transgressions against the taxpayers.....or did you miss that?

You really are bitter arn't you?

How about because I have a better understanding of how your constitutional system works than you do.

One of my closest lawyer friends does a ton of work for the Trump family (and oddly was also on the Biden defense team on the criminal charges) and another only practises in front of the U.S. supreme court.

Do you get a discount on all the towels you have to use to wipe the rabid drool from your frothing mouth? Or does Putin give them to you for free?

Do you understand the role of a court? Why do you think courts are the cause of open borders? Do you know what judges and courts do, or do you think they patrol the border in jeeps or decide how to fund border security and priorities? How many of the cases against Trump were successful? Are those cases started by judges or by prosecutors? What do the courts have to do with "leftist degeneracy?

Do you have the first clue of how your own judicial system works or do you just feel aggrieved alot and like to rant?

I really think you are a Russian bot trying to make Americans look bad. Because seriously you make Archie Bunker look measured.

The Canadian troll who joined 2 months ago, is suddenly an expert on american politics.LOL
Guess what, Captain clueless. I've been here 10 years, long before the existence of the political thread.
All of your anti Trump whining makes the blue haired lib ladies look measured.
