Good Gun Deals This Week

I was very tempted to buy it but kinda went over my gun budget while in London;)

Besides I've allready got one in 9.3x74R.
You need the match to it in the 9.3x62 and eventually the .275 Rigby.

If I didn't already have the 375 H&H I would seriously think about it. But my next number 1's will likely be a 416 and 275 Rigby.

Out of my range but definitely priced to sell especially including the two excellent Swaro scopes and pelican case. ActionBob should consider, make a great gift to Gina!

If someone is seriously interested in the Dakota Traveler 375/300 H&H combo at Gordy's feel free to PM me.

I'll likely be there next week and if it's still there can put hands on it for you as well as likely get one of the employees to facetime you with the gun.

Almost worth buying to hang on your wall at $2700. I have no clue about underhammers.
Cautionary for someone new to doubles who might not be aware, this is almost surely a 500BPE gun and not a 500NE but still a cool gun

With the glass that is a solid deal as priced as long as the scratches etc. are not too extensive.

This seems like it could be a good deal, if it’s real and someone is in El Paso

Well,,,, She has a Rigby Highland Stalker 250th with Grade 9 lumber on the way... in 275 Rigby but with chamber cut to accommodate 175 grain round nose 7x57. And labeled accordingly. Plus has a regular HS in that same clambering, plus a Winchester in and I think 3 Rugers ;)

Wow, that is one beautiful bespoke rifle! Hope you post pics of it. I think she’s got all the bases covered then. :)

Hello friend. Peanut gallery here, feel free to dismiss my armchair quarterbacking.

I'm not a fan of 500/416s because I think they were a brief fad that will not stand the test of time. In turn, that will leave the owner struggling for headstamped brass, all the miserable recoil of a largebore, and less of the efficacy of its parent/s cases.

That being said, my negative opinion of the 500/416 is clearly not as negative as others. I have seen them occasionally sell at auction for a pittance. As in, like $6000 for a k-gun. While I hate them, if they are too cheap to be denied, I'd certainly recommend a shoestring budget friend grab one if its cheap.

But please, please, don't spend good money on a 500/416, its not going to survive the test of time. (the only proven "survivors" of fads are the 450-400 3", the 470NE, and the 500NE).
Not with people poo pooing it online to the market lol.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
