What does the rest of the stock look like…is it American style?

This was listed as a “Herter’s 264 WM”. I have had it reworked to have a pancake style cheek piece, cross bolts, and steel grip cap plus an oil finish

I would check with gunmakers guild and see if someone there recognizes that mark. Looks American style to me, unusual no checkering though. Looks a little Gary Goudy like but not that cheek piece, don’t think he ever did that swirl on the back end of it.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
