My daughter-I’ve never caught one this big. . .

I know! :ROFLMAO:

102 lb dorado caught off Cabo San Lucas: In 2019, Brian Lindsey caught a 102 lb dorado off Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, but it was filleted before being weighed on a certified scale. If the weight was accurate, it would have been the new world record.

We were north of the GG Bridge near Stinson beach trolling for Salmon in an area where there were a lot of whales around. My downrigger took off and was heading toward the front of the boat. I figured we were caught on a whale. Then the downrigger line took a run straight out and the clutch was slowing the effort. I slowly winched in this nice (for our area) Thresher. It was tail wrapped and the 12lb downrigger ball dropped off. Thresher was still alive. Got him winched up and gaffed it. Good eating actually. I smoked a bunch of it…

My best day of Albacore fishing outside the Gate. 75 Miles offshore. Wind picked up to create an 8 x 8 swell condition with a 2’ wind wave. Boat was snap rolling and pitching, but the bite was wide open. Breezers everywhere! No matter what you put on, they were hitting. There were 3 of us and one guy strained his back and tapped out! My good friend Capt Mikey and I plugged the boat!

Long ride in, but worth it!

I love fishing Vancouver Island BC. Tahsis is a little sleepy fishing village about 3 hours drive from Campbell River. Beautiful place. Reminds me of Jurassic Park. Really pristine and preserved in so many ways. Fishing is amazing there!

I caught this 40lb Ling and this 90lb halibut on the same jig and off the same rock area that we target. The ling got the first place prize in the local fishing derby and I won a nice gas engine pressure washer. I had a guy that hauled the boat back at the end of the season drop it off to me…

Pretty good late afternoon with my wife’s cousin on the bay. He is a commercial shrimper and I go with him a time or two a year to work for my shrimp. Todays pay was 60# of 15-20 count white shrimp. We put up 42 meals worth and I got tired of heading them so I will boil the last 5# tomorrow.

Plan to go again in early November when he is catching 10- 15 count shrimp.

Constantly trying different things I finally took the plunge into BFS fishing. I am glad I did!

I bought a Curado BFS reel and rod and spooled it with 4lb Daiwa Samurai Fluoro. I was throwing 6th Sense 1/8 Pecos and tearing up the 1/2lb to 2lb bass. I was shocked at how far it was casting with just cross body flick of the wrist. It was 3 times farther than what I anticipated. Playing those bass on that light line was a ton of fun. I have a lot of ultralight spinning gear, this was just a different experience.

If you have been thinking about it, GO FOR IT!

I cranked in a lot of bass on the heavy gear largest at 6.3 lbs this weekend.

Very nice, I have been thinking about trying BFS. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. This is motivating.

Fortunate enough to spend a good bit of our summers knocking around on the Gulf of Mexico….

Although, I don't fish as much as I used to, we spend a bunch of time on the water. Cocktails and a fish sandwich are a bit more relaxing and a lot less work! Lol

It is a lot of fun and we are fortunate to get some time in there also. Yesterday was one of those days 50 miles offshore. My son caught his best red snapper solo yesterday just 4 mos too early… quickly descended so hopefully can find again in June.
