Good Gun Deals This Week

Found out something weird as I ordered more shelving this afternoon. (Can’t have enough, can I?) Depending on which Ace Hardware you want to pick up the shelving you buy on ace hardware.com, the price is either $209 or $159. Literally, 8 miles from me in two directions are two Ace locations, the price to have it sent to one location is $50 cheaper than the other?

This is how they look in a reloading room, apologies for the mess but I’m still moving in:
Looks like you’re settling into the new place!

Looking good @rookhawk. That location just seems to be missing a nice comfortable leather couch to sit in while oiling the timber of one of your rifles.

Btw, I think women must be scratching their heads on how men can get excited about good shelving

It is never ending. Filled up 6 shelvings. Need more. So i am going to cut loose some of it. No point in accumulating. It will never end.

Little do you guys know, I have cabinets on the other end of the garage and my beer/soda fridge. Inset, I have an old flat screen TV and an AppleTV. Big comfy leather chair sits over there as well, so I can watch a hunting show if I want. Usually, its purpose is to search up YouTube.com on how to fix something so I can sit at a clean work surface and watch the assembly or disassembly video on a 42” screen instead of a phone.

But this is my climate controlled garage/shop. It still needs a lot of work and the unpacking never ceases. I keep finding things I bought, lost, bought again, lost again, bought again….I found FOUR 12 bore mops for cleaning shotguns thinking I owned ONE!

Back to cleaning and organizing! Sorry for making the good gun deals this week thread into a “slide thread” about reloading storage and shelving, but I thought the deal this week for Father’s Day was noteworthy since most of you have the same issues storing your stuff as I have had.

I have about 8 of these shelves for food storage. They are terrific. I didn't mind the diversion one bit.

That is a very good looking rifle.

A friend of mine is selling one of the Craig Boddington Ruger No1 in 450NE
its in great shape
$2000
shoot me a Pm and I can put you in contact with him

Isn’t the Boddington a 450-400 3” nitro express, versus a 450 NE?

I seen the gun yesterday
says 450 NE on the barrel…
but I am not very well acquainted with the No1 they just never were my thing.
it is a beautiful gun thou

I see the Ruger #1 was chambered in both 450 NE and 450-400 so I guess the question is if both were chambered in the Craig Boddington variation.
Here is link to a previous auction of the complete set. Includes both 450-400 and 450. This is a pretty reputable and respected seller so I think this listing was pretty accurate.

"Climate controlled garage" You folks who live at civilized latitudes do realize the things are climate controlled so they have some prayer of starting their cars for four months out of the year?!?

things are climate controlled so they have some prayer of starting their cars for four months out of the year?!?
There are three kinds of cars: Gasoline, Diesel, and electric. The latter two are the only ones in need of climate control. Given proper maintenance the gasoline car starts first time, every time, rain or shine, hot or cold; which is why those slimeballs in DC are trying to do away with them.

A lot of us north of the 49th would beg to differ…..

Even when @Red Leg tries to haze me, he understated his position. 4 months of the year? How about 7 months?

Weather up here is amazing now, pastoral landscapes, verdant pastures, lush native plants line the forest floor. Nonetheless, I moved in on November 12th and the snow dissipated by early May. Literally, I was here 7 months and only saw the color white.

If the garage wasn’t climate controlled (heterosexual three season room) it would be off limits 11 months of the year, 8 due to cold and 3 due to heat!

@Red Leg come up for a visit, but by all means do it in a month other than Jan-Apr.

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
