2023 SCI Convention in Nashville

Yes, they were at SCI, I saw 2 of the in house security officers looking out the window ( sub station 3 rd floor N/E corner) snickering. Saw the whiners wandering off all wet and bedraggled.

@Kevin Peacocke, you should absolutely plan on attending the SCI in Nashville! I’m still thinking about the great time @Jeff505 and I had. The Dallas DSC is a great show too, but Nashville made an impression on me. The hotels are across the street or no more than a few blocks away. You can’t walk far in any direction without running into a pub or restaurant. Everything is within a short walk…which is good because traffic can be thick. I felt safe everywhere we went. Jeff Ruby’s may be the best steakhouse I’ve been to. We stayed 2 days this year. In the future, we may add on another day to take in some of the sites. The Greenbrier Distillery is nearby. An hour south is the Stone‘s River national battlefield. I’m a civil war buff and it’s one I’ve never seen. Anyway, come next year and I’ll stand you a drink.
Thanks Doug, you have convinced me. What will the dates be next year so I can begin to prepare?

So is three days enough to see it all? I am toying with the idea.

Three days is definitely enough time to see it all. In my opinion two days is also enough but if you have friends from overseas going to be there definitely you would need at least three days to cover visiting with them and seeing the show.

Forgot I took photos of the Charles Lancaster booth...

Bottom double from memory is an unusual one...its in 250-300 Savage...the big one a 700NE...the bolt rifle at the front is very nice in 505 Gibbs....already sold ...can't remember calibres of others...one was a .375 h&h possibly the one behind the 505....I was walking around and saw the booth so stopped for a look and realised I knew the person there...George I knew from when he first started working for Paul Roberts quite a while ago. Now he is one of the partners in Charles Lancaster... :D Beers:
You will have to ask @SWS1 nicely to put some photos on when his arrives ..hope I haven't let the cat out of the bag ... :X3: :A Outta::E Big Grin:

Attended my local chapter's banquet last night. The president-elect was in attendance and shared some statistics about the Nashville convention.

-Nashville was the most successful/best attended convention in the history of SCI.
-Almost 18,000 individual members/guests attended.
-As a point of comparison, the SCI 50th anniversary convention only had about 9,000 attendees.

All in all, I think everyone is pretty excited about this new-found energy within SCI and future conventions in Nashville.

You did well.
I did a PG hunt with him in ‘18. Had a great time. I hunted out of his Panorama camp. This is where Jamy actually lives. Colin, the chef is excellent. Game meat lunch and dinners.
Staff is great. Accommodations are in permanent tents on polished concrete slabs.
Tons of game. Even though this is a fenced area, we seldom encountered a fence. And saw animals crossing it at will. Never felt constrained.
I’ve met his other PH’s… all great guys. I hope to do a buffalo hunt with him sometime.
We are going to hunt kaokoland near etosha first. Hunting giraffe, Hartman zebra, ostrich and springboard. Then going to panorama for whatever

Please, please, please, to the powers that be, do NOT move the SCI Convention to the current “murder capital of the USA” - New Orleans. Nashville is money…
Not an accurate comment, New Orleans is a distant 3rd behind St Louis and Baltimore. New Orleans is a great tourist and convention city.

Nashville is a nice town, but how many SuperBowls or college national championships has it hosted? Few or none? New Orleans gets selected to host big conventions for a reason. Great food, music and nightlife in a very walkable downtown area.

Tragic news about the school mass killing in Nashville yesterday. Thoughts and prayers to the families of the victims.

Probably another thread totally, but thank you @375 Ruger Fan for the thoughts and prayers. Nashville needs them. This hit quite close to home, and is just a cyclone of different emotions and feelings. I am 62 years old and just wept for all these victims, especially the children. Such a horrible evil.

Just pure evil and sickening. No words and no excuses for this crap.

When we except sin and evil for normal everyday stuff, no good will ever come of it.

Praying for everyone. Hang in there!

Thanks

……until it moves to New Orleans.
I know this thread is dated, so there is an update, which most everyone knows I’m sure….. Nashville for 10 more years. Indy (2026?) would have been very convenient, but deciding to stay in Nashville is a very good move. Keep hoping I’ll run into Carrie Underwood some year.
