But I would be remiss and the report incomplete if I didn’t at least mention the emotional experiences during the hunt. Hunting lion and bull elephant is hard to fully describe but I imagine many people here understand even if I can’t adequately articulate the experience. It’s life altering.

Well said sir!

I have one African hunt under my belt and the first animal I shot was a tuskless, certainly life altering in ways that are hard if not impossible to describe.

Was ment to ask if the crew had seen the dinosaurs track previously our was it a new discovery? @Razorback

What kind of injury did you finally have?
Finally got around to doing an MRI yesterday. Turns out there is a posterior malleolar fracture along with ligamentous injuries. Will get wear a boot for now.

This Leopard was 150 yards from these Dino tracks

Congratulations on a great hunt. D&Y are a great outfit, and it looks like the Chewore concession is holding a lot of great game!

Pretty tough hobbling around on a malleolar fracture; be sure to work hard on your rehab so you'll be ready to go again!

Fantastic! Awesome! Thank you for sharing!

Great hunt and very nice report. Congrats on your shooting. Thanks for sharing

Did an Xray when I got home and there was no fracture. I’m sure there’s a ligamentous but haven’t made time to do a MRI. Over a month out and I can walk just fine but still can’t walk down stairs normally. I think these things take a long time to get back to 100%
Don't listen to what anyone else says, a hot tub is a wonderful thing, especially after you turn 50. All the little things eventually catch up to you, and although a hot tub and Ben Gay aren't miracle cures, they dang sure make things feel better. ;)

Congrats on a wonderful safari, a well written & entertaining hunt report. Inspiring, for sure, Thanks for sharing.

fantastic report! thanks for sharing and congrats on a very successful hunt!

Thanks for sharing

Looks like a terrific hunt. Dalton and York seem like good guys that live to hunt... I have watched many of their YouTube videos... they know what they are doing and have a good hunting area. As good a guy as York seems to be, he is way too trigger happy for my taste... puts bullets in clients animals where it was completely unnecessary.

Thanks. Great hunt.

I’ll have to respectfully disagree with the trigger happy comment though. I’ve hunted with Dalton and York for years now and York has only discharged his rifle with me one time. That was this hunt on the hippo which I shoulder shot from under 10 yards and he was still on his feet looking to charge. Completely appropriate. Not to mention York and I have discussed a few times that he has complete carte blanche to put an insurance shot into anything based on his split second judgment. So he knows for a fact that I don’t care if he follows me up and still has done it only one time. You won’t find a better, more ethical PH than York.

Well done, excellent report. Loved the videos!

I don't doubt any of that, but there is plenty of video evidence of unnecessary shots on clients animals... I have no idea what prior agreements were made regarding the PH shooting into client's game... but I have been guiding off and on for more than four decades in Canada, on many species, and very few clients want me to shoot their animals unless it is a safety issue and/or it is a wounded animal that they have no shot on and is on the verge of becoming unrecoverable. I do everything in my power to NOT squeeze the trigger on clients animals.

Keep in mind this is an opinion based only of YouTube videos, which often lack background and context, and with zero personal experience. Again, I think they run a great operation and seem like super guys to be around.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
