Zimbabwe currency

As a collectible, the hundred trillion dollar bills in mint uncirculated sell on eBay for about $45

Circulated they are worth $7 from a street vendor.

I think they are worth more now than they were when they were being printed.

I read somewhere that it was best to have USD not older than a certain issue date? For the life of me can't remember where. This was a Zim requirement BTW.

Yes, need to be the latest issued bills.

Sometimes I relish when stupidity punishes the stupid. I don't know why I'm evil, but here is an example of an "I told you so" moment that was so obviously going to end poorly:

A guy goes to Zim on a hunt about 4 months ago. He brings $16,000 and declares it. He trades it at airport 1:1 for Zim dollars so he can have local currency. Huge pile mind you as it's all in $5 Zim bond notes.

He goes to zimparks and tries to pay them in Zim dollars for his hunt concession fees. They won't take the Zim dollars!

I cannot fathom why anyone would be so foolish as to trade US dollars or Rands or Pounds or Euros for a local currency in Zim. Diamonds, gold, silver, that is real.

Zim bond notes are not real.
You can't be serious? Is this a true story?
