Why a 9.3x57?

Could you gentlemen and scholars please educate me on the 9.3x57 Mauser? Until recently this caliber was unknown to me. In my search for other calibers I noticed many fine examples of this caliber rifle for sale. Very intriguing but is it practical and in what applications?

About 120 years ago, all kinds of Cateiges were deveöoped pased on the x57 Mauser cases.
The 9.3 was one of them.

For some occasions the 7 or 8mm wasnt enough and users wanted more.
