Who to follow (or not)?

Hunting with a PH you trust is a great thing but do you really need a trusted PH on a cull hunt? For a cull hunt I would probably lean the Outfitters way because any PH he gives you will be able to point out culls for you to shoot.

I suppose that makes sense. The bar to become a PH is much higher than it is to become a guide in the Lower 48 in the US (just need a pickup truck and binoculars).

We all get attached to our Ph’s for the most part. I am no different.
It’s really tough because when traveling so far into a foreign land it’s great to be with a familiar face.
I will say that for me, being a true adventurous type, I really like meeting new people and going to new places. In hunting we are all friends, we’ve just not all met yet.
Regards,
Philip

A single employee leaves for one reason or another. A group of employees leaving may signal something else. If I had a mechanic for my car, who did good work and treated me the way I wanted to be treated, I would not hesitate to follow him to another shop. Or, if after checking out the new shop I did not like the facilities, attitude or willingness to value me as a customer, I would expand my search. Bottom line, as said before, you are the client and customer. Do not be afraid to do your due diligence and open up the search for a good or better match.

All that glitters, is not always gold. Don't mean to be clich'e. There could be underlying factors, or not?
Years ago, I worked as a guide for a well respected outfitter in the Madison Valley of Montana. He had a quality outfit, and was good to his clients, but had a tendency to be an A-hole to employees. He treated his horses better then he did me.

Despite that, he had many repeat clients.

As a client, you never know what is going on behind the scenes.?
