Where does Steiner get their glass?

Steiner claims their optics and binos (everything produced after 2014) carry a lifetime warranty..

Considering Burris owns them now.. and Burris has a very good reputation for honoring its warranties.. I'd think steiner would do the same (at least for now)..

Beretta Holdings own Steiner and Burris.

Depending on the model, the glass is SCHOTT or Philippine. Their higher end scopes are Made in Germany and marked as such. The rest are sourced and assembled in Greeley, CO.

They are fine scopes but heavy compared to others in the same class.

Just looked it up.

The Steiner predator 8 2-16 weighs 23.4oz.

The Swarovski Z8i 2-16 weighs 23.8oz.

So no, it is not heavy compared to others in its class. It is lighter than the alpha in its class. Maybe you are thinking of their military line which are heavy and built like tanks. Not the predator 8 line.

Predator 8 line is best value going in scopes today. In Europe they call in the ranger 8 and they make a 1-8 scope too.
