When is Winchester planning on doing another run of safari rifles?

Mine is an older one and the swivel isn't a band either. I wish it was though

Midway had them last week in .458 win and .375 H&h. I’m wanting on in .416 rem though which were still out of stock otherwise I would have bought one.
I think a friend of mine has a custom shop model 70 416 Rem, stainless barrel , I think it has a removable brake, he wants $2300. Let me know if you are interested, I will see if he still has it.

Appreciate it. Was thinking blued steel and walnut though. My midlife crisis has fully hit Im pretty sure and instead of motorcycles and a 20 year old girlfriend I’m itching to collect some nicer firearms. Hopefully the wife doesn’t mind my choice of midlife crisis hobby.

It has wood stock. At. 71, I don't know what I would do with a 20 year old girlfriend , it would probably be an expensive choice

I was able to get one from Midway yesterday but they were out of stock today. They have already sent me a tracking number for mine

There are 7 new Safari Express 375 h&hs and about the same 458 win mags on GB starting around $1500 listed today so some new ones other than what Midway had are popping up. No 416 Rem mags yet though.

If I understand the OP and the title, he is asking about rifles and not ammo (I think).

Winchester sort of exists in name only. The name is owned by Olin Corp and they make Winchester ammo.

FN Herstal (Browning, et al) has rights to make rifles under the Winchester name

I agree! I see the name being used and being a Winchester collector and fanatic I want to say…

“Winchester will never make another rifle?!?! Winchester died in 2006 in New Haven Connecticut sadly…
But if you want a new FN they are available!”

I guess I’m still sad it happened or too uptight about it but I can’t come to calling a FN a Winchester! And I’d personally never own one!
Though I’m sure they are fine rifles, just not a Winchester!

A Winchester im .404 Rimless would be great.

How is a New Haven Winchester any different than FN owned Winchester??? Winchester quit being Winchester in 1931 when Olin bought them then made the rifles until they sold New Haven to the employees (forming USRAC) w/ a license from Olin. Herstal (FN Herstal, etc.) bought the plant and was the one making Winchesters (under the USRAC label) from about 1990 to when they closed in 2006. So, you might own/have owned some of those 'ugly' FN made ones. :D

I have to say some of the stuff that came out of New Haven wasn't a 'Winchester' either. They produced their fair share of crap guns.

At Winchester in New Haven, there was an ongoing episode of urinary olympics between the company and union resulting in more than a few of those crap guns. I remember one a guy at the range who was struggling with sighting in a scope that the mounting holes in the receiver were off center. My 2¢, the replacement workers and worn out, obsolete machinery couldn't make a popgun let alone something with tolerances in thousandths of an inch..

Winchester is a brand. Period. Always has been. Like Ford is a brand. There have been good Fords and bad Fords over the years but to say that the only good ones were manufactured at the original factory in Detroit is just wrong. FN knows how to make great guns. There are good Winchesters and bad ones just like Ford. Find one you like and buy it. It doesn’t matter much who owns the brand “Winchester”.

I was curious and sent Win an email. The CS rep stated that safari models are made year round? He simply suggested backordering one due to high demand.
