What's the best and worst African tasting game meat?

My outfitters brother always threatened to feed me lion. Luckily I managed to avoid it
That's better than threatening to feed you TO the lions. LOL

Definitely haven't tasted all African game (very far from!); but everything Claudius and the rest of the PawPrint-team served was delicious!

side note, cat tastes and smells really bad
I've eaten both cougars I've harvested and they had no strong taste or odor, the meat was mild and light colored. Do't know why African cats would be bad?

Not into cougars I like them my age or younger :)

I hear that zebra tastes good?

I've had much finer meals as a whole, but the one bite of meat that always sticks out for me as the best-est ever is us sitting around the fire after 3 days of hard hunting the western Namibian mountains to take the old Stallion. Started out as a pretty big hunk o meat but shrunk down quite a bit as it cooked, given his age not the most tender but not tough and just chock full of flavor. My #1 is Mountain Zebra

when you're tired and hungry everything tastes good. 3 days of hunting in the mountains will do that

A African hunter of long ago said " Hunger is the best sauce."

Been on 2 safaris. Total of @ 25 days in SA eating a lot of game. Best: Gemsbok (but it was my 1st kill so I was a bit prejudiced!!!) Worst: warthog, but I think it was the cook...

You ate the cook? Well, I could see how that might not be so tasty ;)

Odd, i would rate warthog as one of the best.
must've been the cook... :ROFLMAO:

Eland steaks are my favorite red meat on earth! Fried buffalo balls are also surprisingly good.

@gizmo loves balls.... but he prefers them still on the bone. Served at body temperature. LOL!!!

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
