What Watch do you wear when you hunt?

Not exactly a hunting watch, but Breguet's single hand is being re-made to celebrate their 250th aniversary. I am seriously tempted.

I seen that a month or so ago. Nice looking! However I thought the retail price was very high. I think it might be in platinum? Still doesn’t command the 50k price point I was told.

I was in a hurry to fix a gate and did a quick welding job and failed to take it off like normal. Destroyed the crystal and ceramic bezel insert.

Shoot, sorry to hear that. Looks great now. I have one I've been hesitant to wear, however seeing them in the wild pushes me closer to some daily wear.

This has truly been my "beater" if you will since 2014 or 15. Been a great watch, I do everything with it, pull engines, all my hunting etc. (normally no welding however)
I've never even had it serviced. I throw it on a timegrapher a couple times a year to make sure were still running good.

I posted before that I usually wear my Fenix 6X as it has a GPS and I use that to mark where I take shots, where I last see blood, where the camp is etc.
But I have recently got a watch that blew me away , an automatic diver with a little South African angle.
Draken is a microbrand named after the Drakensberg mountains and the owner now lives in New Zealand and is a hunter/shooter himself.
I am in no way linked or associated with them, just a paying customer loving a product.
Im a big diver (Sharks being a massive passion) and could not resist getting a SA designed dive watch.

I went Green-Green Tugela model partly because that was all that was available in stock and partly because I think it links back to the bush and outdoor activities, not just diving.
A proper 300m water resist, good bracelet as well as nylon strap giving me options.

This will be on my arm the next hunt for sure.
The limitations of a cheap automatic are there, but I would also think some of you might look at these as a SA souvenir after a hunt?
I am looking at thier Aoraki field watch next.

I have had my Rolex Explorer 40 for about a month now and couldn't be happier. In that period it seems to be keeping exact time and what a pleasure it is to not have to change date. Wear and go. Oh, it has also been on a buffalo hunt in the Save, my son-in-law didn't get one, but it was great to be on tracks again.

Citizen Eco Drive Divers 300. Worn 24/7, 365. Typically I only take it off if I am sticking my hand somewhere that a band might hang me up. Or when the band breaks (on the 3rd now).
I've worn a watch, on the wrong wrist according to some, since I received a Timex of some sort when I was 8 or 9. Soon after, moved it to my right wrist because the elastic band allowed the watch to bash the back of my hand every time I threw a baseball. Been on the proper hand ever since.
Used to wear cheap digital watches that I didn't care about as I have broken more than a few. But diving taught me the value of the analog hands and a timing bezel. This Citizen has withstood quite a bit of abuse and still keeps perfect time with no battery to worry about.
Always have admired fine watches, but could never bring myself to spend the money on one. Always wanted a Submariner. But first, I have a couple more doubles to acquire.

After all the talk about security in South Africa I will probably leave my Rolex behind this upcoming trip, but it just wont feel right. I cant use an inferior replacement watch, that would be like driving a Chinese thing after the Landy, so I'll just have to resort to the cell phone. Then there is probably a Joburg gang that takes cell phones.....

Hi. A little bit off the side, bit I have been contemplating a ele hun in Zim after numerous hunts in SA and Namibia, but have been a bit concerned about the security situation in Zim. But maybe I have been wrong the whole time, that it is actually safer in Zim ? I would like to explore a little bit on my own or with a guide like Devils pool etc. I would appreciate an insiders view here. Thank you.

I am not aware of any problems re watch robbery in Zimbabwe.
