What shows do most African Outfitters attend in the US?

For archers, Harrisburg is nice as you can shoot almost all the new bows. They have about 10 lanes set up with targets about 15-20 feet away. Only a few minutes wait in each line when I went. Also a few different draw lengths and reasonable draw weights for each brand. I shot most well known brands/models the last 2 years, even the short 20” Gearhead. A lot of fun. There are also traditional bows being sold including some inexpensive longbows. Not a name brand, so some entrepreneurs. Lancaster archery has a good sized shop there as well as a shop from PA. New top end halons and Bowtechs going for $899 and specials on arrows by the dozen.

Many of the smaller events in the southeast have some African outfitters. The Dixie Deer Classic in Raleigh is the first weekend in March and there are several outfitters there. The southeastern wildlife expo in Charleston during February has a few outfitters as well. DSC is a direct flight away from Charlotte as well. We have booked with Warthog Safaris at the Dixie deer classic and have had three fantastic hunts/family experiences DSC is a nice show too.

There's something to be said for an outfitter interested enough in your business to come to you. CB

I have seen attendance figures for DSC varying from 40,000 to 60,000 attendees over the 4 days. Western Outdoor Expo passed 50,000 this year (or so they announced), so not much difference in size......FWB

DSC’s published results for the 2018 show are:

52,000+ attendance
1835 exhibits
1006 exhibitors
$7.46M raised

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
