The guy that wrote this is Dr Frank Hibben, freaking spell check.Under the African Sun by Dr Frank Hobbes.
Read it before and it’s a pretty good read , mostly about East Africa with a little Botswana thrown in.

That’s not reading that’s called work and it rarely equates to pleasurable. Reading is usually relaxing.I am going to be honest and say I don’t read novels or books. I go to the gym or plant food plots or go hunting or fishing.
I read enough at work via contracts and emails. lol.
If you have not read Mahfouz’ Cairo Trilogy, I imagine you would enjoy. The books tell the story of a family in the old quarter with the changes in Egypt, and across the Arab world, superimposed on the family of a kind, dutiful father who lives long enough to see his family impacted by so much change.I was given a copy when I was in my teens, and it is what began my fascination with the Middle East. That eventually led to the Defense Language Institute for Arabic, Foreign Service Institute for Arabian Peninsula Dialect, and a fellowship at the Walsh School, Contemporary Arab Studies, Georgetown - and a lot of time mucking around the Arab World.
I can't imagine why it would be on some sort of restricted list.
I read it. I like McIntyre’s writing style. I believe it was pubbed after he passed. I remember thinking that he was better in magazines, working with a compressed format. Still, always fun to read about the animals we love to hunt.
