Wanted CZ550 .458 Lott Take Off Barrel

Caliber is of no matter. 375, 416, 404, 458, 500, or 505. I’ve had almost all of them and any of them
will serve you well.

I guess I should have stated a design intent. Its just going to be a state side woods gun. Primarily short range hog. I wont be betting my life on this rifle against a charging buff. Ill probably end up just having pac-nor or a local smith fitting a sightless barrel and putting it in a bell and carlson unless I can find a wood stock somone decided had too many dings in it that would do just fine on a woods gun. I enjoy the romanticism of the safari calibers so thats whats driving my caliber selection. When it comes time to spend 6k on a rifle I'll do my best to save triple that and try and catch someone selling a ph model heym double as thats one of my attainable dream rifles.

If that is the case, you will be money ahead buying a M70 in 458WM and shooting it or have it chambered in 458Lott and do a little work to it. When it is all said and done you will have several thousand tied up in your rig and resale will be pennies on the dollar (we never want to sell sometimes things happen).

Not trying to kill your dream. Just look at it this way, your barrel blank will run between 400-450, chamber/thread 350, a good smith is going to want to true the action 450, are you going to have it coated? 75 if so. I'm not sure what they will charge to crown all of mine get threaded so let's say 50. Your at 1350 before we even talk about shipping and taxes plus the 6-18 months to complete the process. You still need a stock even a used one is probably 150+ not including any other little things that always seem to pop up.

I agree with @Inline6
Exactly what are you looking for. Custome builds are expensive. You will mever get your money back if you ever have to sell it for any reson you may get into. Even trading. Get a shooter in the caliber you like and get a good feel for it. You may like it or not. Before investing quite a bit get dome hands on that will serve the purpose for now. Your learning process will lead you in the right direction. That is my .2 cents. In my persuit and learning I have settled on 450 Rigby even though I have larger ones and smaller one than that in big bores. Every body is different. Doubles is not my cup of tea. It will all come together over time. Good luck.

Goodness, that barrel is gorgeous! Unfortunately I can't swing that currently. I didn't realize they were so much more than the 416 rigby barrels. 100% not doubting your price, I just didnt know. I truly appreciate your willingness to allow me to buy such a rare barrel though.
At $800, Krish's barrel is a good buy. I just had a CZ550 in 375 rebarreled to 458 Lott. Just the cost attributed to the barrel was a shade over $1500. His comes with all the parts and pieces already assembled and blued for basically a little over half the money. My barrel was only $400, but as others have pointed out, there's a lot needed beyond just the barrel.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
