Hey everyone,
Trying to identify a vintage rifle scope from my family with no markings anywhere on the tube or mount.
Key details:
- Tube diameter: 27mm (non-standard)
- External brass adjustment turret with central drum
- Quick-detach claw mount (Klauenmontage) with brass dovetail rails
- Simple crosshair reticle, optics still intact
- Original cylindrical leather case
Provenance: used for big game hunting in colonial Africa (Douala, Cameroon) in the 1920s-1940s.
Two experts in vintage German optics couldn't identify it and believe it may be a unique or very rare custom-made piece by an unknown gunsmith-optician, possibly pre-WWI.
