Value of .416 John Rigby 1924 Model

That's one reason Harry's is so famous. The funny thing about Harry's 416 is that he bought it used (it was originally owned by Don Bousfield, but he didn't take to it), and that after he got it, he took to it with a file to make the stock how he liked it. Harry's 416 bore no resemblance to what we think of as a classic Rigby 416. In point of fact the rifle had no checkering for a long time - until it was rebarreled.

Do you know of the rifles current whereabouts? A friend from Maun asked me a few weeks back if I owned it? From what I recall it is in the US .

From Tony Sanchez book . Great African Calibers. His two great loves were the .416 and .500 Jeffery.

I am late to this conversation and have a question for all of you that are so knowledgeable. I always thought the BRNO 602 had a double square bridge. Evidently I am wrong. Late 60's forward, the 602 had the double square bridge until the change to CZ as I understand. When did BRNO start making the single square bridge 602?

A lot of the 602 that were reworked by Roberts which had Rigby then a lot of material were removed to give that single square bridge effect and the British side mount for it .

Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum. I came across this thread researching a gun I just bought. The letter describes it as a brevex, but there are some inconsistencies (Thumb cut, upside down proofs, different style of checkering, etc) that are giving me hesitation. It seems like even the factory is left scratching their heads about it. Can anyone tell me if this is the genuine article?

That gun was discussed somewhere on here. Can’t remember if it was under “Good Gun Deals this Week” or under a thread with somebody seeking a .416. Good luck!

My different ones had claw mounts..apart from one which was only irons

I own & use one of the original Rigby SSB Magnum Mausers all original. I put a fair value on it at around $40,000.00.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
