USA: Rockin G Ranch Hog Hunt 4/21

The bad and the good of it.
Bottom line...I must be honest and report that I won’t return just for hogs...a waist of money. JMO, but their market niche is exotics year round and deer during season. I would highly recommend paying to hunt a lower cost exotic during the day, then hogs at night in their package deal. Paying $1,800 to get one average hog is not a deal most can afford. We were told that things had changed since the brutal weather. Maybe so, but in my observation this time of year they are not feeding the deer for hunters, so no food, no hogs either. Again JMO, and observation. Once we arrived and they put feed out, a single showed up and a sounder of 8 showed. Nothing like I had observed the three fall and winter hunts I had been there on.

The good, or rather DELICIOUS part was Kelly’s Texas comfort food cooking! If you love comfort food, you will love spending time at the dinner table at the Rockin-G-Ranch!

My recommendation again...spend the money on an exotic hunt and get the hog night hunt thrown in.

It was a tough hunt as far as hogs seen go, sure would’ve loved to have more hogs moving through the ranch, but as always enjoyed having you out. Thank you for the kind words about Kelly’s cooking. It was outstanding as always.

Oh, even in high fenced areas you can have a bad hunt. Otherwise it wouldn’t be called hunting, but killing…LOL!
