I recently gotten to try an experience that I've wanted to do for a long time, a hog hunt on a swamp buggy. I ended up going with Lightsey Family Ranch by Lake Okeechobee. When I arrived I was completely blown away with their lodge given how big it was and the exceptional trophies!

I met up with my guide and got acquainted with the swamp buggy. We rolled into their hog hunting area and then the fun began! Soon after we jumped up some pigs but they weren't what we were looking for. Eventually, a boar presented itself and we chased him down trying to get a good angle for a shot. Riding a swamp buggy bouncing around, dodging tree limbs, and holding steady for a shot was a challenge. The boar continued to evade us running around trees and using palmettos for cover and we kept on him. Soon after, the boar stopped moving for a second and I readied the gun and pulled the trigger.

After the hunt was over I went to Lightseys Seafood Restaurant for a margarita and the Okeechobee Sample which had catfish, frog legs, alligator, and turtle all local from Lake Okeechobee. Everything was very good and I tried a new hot sauce! Hunting from a swamp buggy was a very exhilarating experience and change from the kind of hunting that I am used to. The hunt got me even more excited for my upcoming gator hunt that will be happening in the coming days so be on the lookout!

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
