Just took my tsavo to the range. Shot with iron sights since my scope bases have not arrived yet. Here are my 1st 3 shots no sight adjustment needed! 50 yards 300 hrain Swift A Frames at 2450 fps.

How was the kick?

I shot it on the bench off sand bags. Recoil is stiff but manageable. I did not use the muzzle break, I don't like their look. With scope the rifle will weigh a little over 9 lb so it's ok. Off the sticks it will be a pussy cat.

Any more details from the guys who have been lucky enough to get a Tsavo so far?

I believe a good picture (meaning in focus, good lighting and edited for orientation and size) of this rifle is needed to show what a great prize this is.

I have had my Tsavo for a few weeks now. I have not taken it to the range yet, as I am still awaiting my Zeiss scope (which was on back order) to show up. Once I get the scope on I will be doing a range report on it.

Good looking stock on both rifles! (y)

Ok got my Tsavo to the range. I was having trouble getting it on paper at 100, so took it to 25 yards. After getting it dialed in I shot 2 each of 300 grainswift A Frame, 250 grain Hornady cx, 300 grain Barnes TSX and 300 grain woodleigh Weldcores. Here is a pic. Now I will have to get it to 100 and 200 yard range.

Did you figure out when you were initially trying to get it in paper was it high, low, left, right? Open sites or scope?

Was not initially on paper at 100 at 25 high and right adjusted then shot tje 8 rounds. That was my limit for shooting 375 off the bench. So will have to makea 2nd trip for 100 and 200. I expect they will be about 2" high at 100. Pretty happy with accuracy and how it shoots 4 different bullets to nearly the same point of aim.

  • 10-Ring: 1.48 inches
  • 9-Ring: 3.48 inches
  • 8-Ring: 5.48 inches
  • 7-Ring: 7.18 inches (this marks the outer edge of the aiming black)
  • 6-Ring: 8.94 inches
  • 5-Ring: 10.70 inches [1] this was at 25 yard racking my Tsavo as fast as I could. Third round jamed a little bit probabaly me but I bet thats the flyer.

Ok here is 100 yard report with my Tsavo 375 h&h. I was aiming at the small diamons in the four corners. You can see Swift, Barnes and woodleigh all shoot to close to same poi. Weird that the Hornadys would shoot touching each other at 25 yard but not at 100 not even close. The squares on this target are 1 inch. Trijicon Acupoint 1x6 scope.
