looking at the Trijicon AccuPoint 2.5x12 with the post/ triangle in red or green and wonder if anyone has experience with it? It has what Trijicon calls (BAC) which stands for both eyes open when aiming, I though this might be great as I am Left eye dominate and was taught to close my left eye when shooting, I shoot right handed and it would e great to be able to have both eyes open especially when a buff comes a running. I have a couple of Leupolds with the Firedot and if I try to shoot with both eyes open the left eye takes over and throws things off. Any thought's or experience with it? thanks

I have the 1-4, 1-6, 3-9 accupoints. I only get these, Leupolds, and when I am buying for handout rifles, Primary Arms 1-6x24 with ACSS reticles.

No problems - realize the fiber optic doesn't get much light if YOU are in the shade, so looking out into the bright sunlight, you will not have a "glowing"/"shining" post tip. The other way - you in daylight and the animal under a tree - great! You can still aim fine - just looks dull at the tip.

Kinda tough to beat a 12 year "battery" life with the tritium - I really see no problem with 20 year old scopes.

I like the glass - only had Leupold VX5 & 6, and Trijicon - no Swaros and such.

The triangle on the post is FAST. I believe the triangle subtends 4MOA at its base, so very limited range finding capability. Really not an issue for all but one of my shots on my plains game trip. The CDS dial saved me on that one shot.

Hope this helps a little.

I like the firedot as it is good in daylight and haven't looked at the trijicon yet, closest is Scheels 120 miles away, guess I will have to take a drive, maybe next week when I see my gunsmith

USMA84DAB, I looked up the specs and the lighted portion is 1.5moa wide and 1.5 moa height. which color do you use red or green? I think the red might be a little darker than the green. thanks now

The illuminated reticle scopes I have are: 1-6x and 3-9x Trijicon, both with plex reticles and green dots. I also have several Leupold VX-5’s with Firedots, an US Optics 1-6x and a Swarovski Z5i. I like the fact the Trijicon doesn’t need batteries. IMO, of the aforementioned scopes, the Trijicon is the most visible under all conditions, followed by the Leupold with Swarovski close behind. The US Optics red illumination is virtually invisible in daylight (confirmed by a couple of friends). The USO has six brightness settings and 1 thru 3 are pointless, even in total darkness. That said, as just a scope, I like it.

Have owned their Accupoints with green dot reticle and have been using a 2.5-10x56 with the green post reticle for over ten years. Tried the amber and red but feel green works best. Amber blends in with most backgrounds and is tough to see. Use it primarily on groundhogs, crows, and in RSA, night time on springhares, springbok culls and other assorted varmints. May take a little getting used to but as previously posted, target acquisition is fast.

I have a bit of experience with the Trijicon Acog's, I own a few of them and they are fantastic for their application. I have a 5.5x50 that has fantastic clarity-they really shine in poor lighting conditions where that Chevron glows bright and helps you get on target very quick. They get an A+ from me and I own illuminated Zeiss and Kahles scopes and the Trijicon never needs batteries !!

I had this scope on my first MRC for one of my PG portion on my Rhino hunt. It worked great for me on two animals out to 300 yards

tThanks everyone for you answers and help. I think I will order from Euro-Optic the Green post in the 2.5-12 as it has a 6.5 tube body and I think it will fit the long action Rem 700 I am having built in 9.3x62 better, and price is good at 909.00 no shipping. Thought about the 3-9 but the tube body is 5.3 inches will have to measure one of my other 700's that has a 3-9 on it and see how it fits. Also I like the price on the 3-9 better at 620.00. thanks Jim

Great choice. I bought a 1-6 for my 375.

Make sure to use the AH_25 discount code for an extra $25 off at EO.

Thanks did not know they had one

@Hyde Hunter - since 2013 I have used a Trijicon Accupoint 3-9 x 40 with standard Duplex and illuminated green Dot in center of reticle. I have been VERY PLEASED with it for Night Hunting Coyotes a top my .22-250 and have killed 25+ Coyotes and 15+ Fox with it, most at 100 to 150 yrds but a few coyote out to 200. The illuminated Green Dot allows for very fast target acquisition in any Night or low light situation. I later purchased an 2nd (exact same model Trijicon Accupoint) for deer hunting and mounted on my .30-06 - great for deer that appear at Last Light. I like the 3-9 power (plenty of magnification even for Fox out to 150-200 yrds) and also the fact it does Not require a battery - illuminated by Tritium Gas and illumination brightness should last 10 years and degrade only 50%….mine is 14 years old and still plenty bright. Trijicon will “refill” the Tridium Gas if you mail scope back to them and I plan on doing that this year. My Scopes have held zero for years including on two hunting trips by air to Wyoming and back…never needed to re sight in or adjust scope. They seem rugged, tolerate .30-06 recoil fine, clear image/glass and also light weight (16oz?). For only $800 I don’t think you will find a better scope in this price range with these features.

@Hyde Hunter - “green” is usually the BRIGHTEST, at least to my eyes and others I’ve spoken to

609.00 right now at Euro Optics

@Hyde - thanks and you’re right ..the price keeps coming down - 10 years ago $800 was a good price then dropped to $700 and NOW $600?? I guess the technology is either cheaper to produce or there is competition from other——NEWER scopes competing with them? Hopefully their quality has remained good because I’m happy with the ones I have.

Just an FYI on the company, I sent one back to rejuvenate the tritium since it was over ten years old. They emailed me that it was still 95% and didn't need renewed. Cleaned, recharged and reset everything no charge. Had one of their rebranded Delta scopes parallax go south on me. Got an RA and a week later they emailed me parts no longer available, scope was obsolete. Sent me a brand new top of the line Ten Mile, again no charge. That scope's been to Africa three times, no issues.

@Hogpatrol - thanks and thats good information….sounds like Great Company and Great Customer Service

well guys with all the info you all have given me I decided to order the Trijicon 3-9 with the green post. Hopefully I will like it, but if not Euro Optic will take it back and exchange it for the crosshair reticule I would have to pay shipping. Also Samson7x thanks for the 25.00 discount code I did not know about it has cost me about 150.00 so far not knowing. My rifle will not be ready for the scope for a couple months so to mess around with the scope I will place it on an extra stock and get used to the post reticule. thanks all Jim

Wow. I really like to support companies that genuinely look out for their customers. Between testimonials like this and the overwhelmingly positive reviews I’ve seen, my next new rifle will probably get a Trijicon.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
