Travel with a suppressor through Newark or buy one in RSA and leave it

Let me relate a story of a group hunting Frontier safari at the same time as I was in July. They were supposed to arrive the same day I did except they got delayed in Newark for 5 days due to air traffic controller shortage. In this case you have to take get your baggage you become a felon. Key lesson as my travel agent said don't go through Newark with a gun.
@jimb1972: NJ is bad - but Not “impossible” to travel thru with firearms….just make certain that the firearm is Legal-in-New Jersey. Most hunting rifles are Legal in NJ (bolt action, single shot, double rifles) All handguns are illegal, All suppressors are illegal, and any firearm barrels “threaded” for a Supressor also illegal (unless pinned/welded), semi autos vary but any magazine over 10 rounds is illegal….it is a COMLICATED set of laws to navigate. New Jersey gun laws can be researched or you can call into the New Jersey State Police and ask questions. Still, it is Not a gun friendly State and if possible - I would avoid it. Regardless don’ take chances - KNOW the Laws and follow them.

What happens if crowd strikes happens again you have to take your firearm. Not worth the risk or the hassle

I personally wouldn’t risk it if my flights were flying through any east coast state north of Virginia (including DC), or through Minneapolis, Chicago, Cali, Oregon, or Washington.

I try to plan for “worst case” which would include a recheck or taking possession.

You might want to reach out to your PH or Safari Outdoors and see if they can have one for you. Give them your thread pitch and caliber. When i was last in Safari Outdoors they had several 30 cal cans for $200-300 with no wait. Almost bought one and left it with my PH

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
