Today's announcement of 244 arrested in an FBI child trafficking sting is great news, but....would you believe one of the perps is the son in law of our music minister. And has been a sexual felon since 2002. I find it hard to believe someone in the family did not know of his activity. I actually wish that all like perpetrators would be permanently chemically castrated.
Nothing makes my blood boil like sex slavery of minors!
Since most experts in the field believe such orientation cannot be cured but only managed, what are we to do with the monsters in your opinion?
You might be shocked to find out how many live IN YOUR OWN NEIGHBORHOOD.

There would be an abrupt decline in this kind of stuff if the animals were drug out in the streets and hung from the street lights and left there for the rest of them to see.

Not sure how chemical castration can be permanent?

Why mess around? Maybe do a lose one nut for the first offense, lose the second for the second, and the whole unit for the 3rd? At least give the few a chance to reform before dire consequences….

Steve you are absolutely correct. When @Just Gina and I were looking for a house outside of the Communist Dictatorship of Minnesota, she would do a check on the areas we were considering and it was astonishing how many convicted sex offenders and murderers are living in some small towns.

While I agree with you, not all those listed on the sex offender list are really (what I would consider) offenders. Some people are listed for statutory rape, such as a someone over the age of 18 dating someone younger, parents find out they had sex, and press charges. While it isn't right, it was consensual so shouldn't be placed on the list. I know of one case where on the Savannah River Bridge 5k, a man swatted a reporters butt as he ran by. Stupid and inappropriate to me, but she pressed charges and he was charged with sexual assault and placed on the list. Other times, a spouse or significant other makes false accusations. Even if they are proven false, the person can STILL be placed on the list. Heck, you could swipe your wife's rear, she call the police, then YOU are on the list. Context is key.

You are quite right.

My occupation is representing the victims of childhood sexual abuse in court cases.

There are child sexual predators everywhere. Religious authorities, teachers, Boy Scout leaders, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, sports coaches, doctors...etc. Anywhere there are children gathered will attract predators wanting to prey on them.

You really do need to be diligent. Many of these deviant individuals are very intelligent and cunning. The internet has also given them many new avenues to access victims.

I don't think you should shrink your child's life to avoid risk, but you really need to be diligent and insist on procedures that enhance child safety in any institutional setting you put them in.

Chemical castration isn't the answer.
It's goes beyond sex with those animals, they feel that they have some kind of sick bond with the child. There is no rehabilitation for those sick bastards.

One thing the Russians got right, one to the back of the head!
Funny you should mention the Russian response. 29 years ago I was on a mission trip to Siberia. I happened to ask if they ever had a problem with child sexual abuse. They said, "never--the police take them away...."

It seems to be Christian churches or organizations that the media shines the spotlight on. If we only knew what has happened in our public school systems I imagine we would all be in shock.

True, context is important. Still, knowledge from these sex offender databases can be of value, especially for those violent sexual predators and pedophiles, they are out there, more than you think. In my previous career, I had some interesting conversations with psychologists and FBI profilers regarding this behavior. I had a profound disagreement with a psychologist who believed a pedophile could be treated and cured. My thoughts are sure, with a bullet to the head. I like an FBI profilers thoughts on this subject, she felt the desire will always be there forever, regardless of any type of treatment. Can they be treated and stop this deviant behavior? She said it’s akin to taking a bite of your favorite pizza, chewing it, savoring the wonderful taste and then spitting it out without swallowing. Highly unlikely.

I debated whether I should talk about this on an online forum, but since I’m a retired politician and there was already some tabloid writing about it in the past (some of which still may or may not be circulating online)… I’ll talk about it anyway.

My ex-wife (at the height of her heroin addiction) tried to get our eight year old daughter married to a wealthy 75 year old man who offered her some heroin. She damn well would have succeeded if my parents & I didn’t intervene in time. Needless to say, this was the catalyst for our divorce. We were already having a lot of marital problems regarding her addiction and for a long time… I was actually quite terrified of leaving our children alone with her due to her unstable personality (because of my government post in the Department Of Forests, I used to spend five days a week away from home). But it was at that moment that I finally gave up on her completely. There was no going back for us after what she did.

In my life, I’ve gone after many pedophiles & child sex traffickers in the line of duty. Some of it, I mentioned in my autobiography (as much as you can publicly talk about these things, anyway). When I was posted to oversee the Sundarban mangrove forests in 1980 as a DFO (Divisional Forest Officer), there were quite a few pirate clans that used to attack local villages in order to kidnap little girls for the human trafficking business. They would stuff the children into oil drums and illegally ferry them across the border into India, where the kids would be sold into child prostitution rings. One Catholic Christian village in the Buri Goalini Forest Range (Sham Nagar) used to get repeatedly attacked four or even five times a year by the pirates, who knew that the Bangladesh government (then full of Muslim & Hindu religious bigots) wouldn’t really take any action at the complaints from the local Catholic community (that too, one located in an isolated village at the extreme southwestern border of the country). All that changed when I took control of the territory. It took me three months, but I succeeded in completely bringing child sex trafficking to a halt in that region (although my dedicated men deserve the credit much more than I do). I had declared via radio-
“If you take an innocent human life anywhere around these forests, then your own life will immediately be forfeit. And if you harm a child… then you will wish that your life was forfeit”.

But what my ex wife tried to do, deserves a special place in hell. All things considered, I’d say she got off easy. I still can't believe that I was married to somebody who would sink this low just to get another heroin fix.

You want my opinion on how to deal with a pedophile ? I’ll give it to you. Cut the Achilles tendons and the Biceps tendons. Stuff them alive into an oil drum alive after filling the bottom of the drum with heavy rocks. Seal the oil drum shut and throw them into the water. Do it a few dozen times and see if anybody dares to even keep child pornography around them after that.

Happens all around us. I have a buddy who is a LEO. He received a commendation 3-4 years ago for a ground breaking bust (unknowingly) on a child sex trafficking ring. Started as a simple call from the motel manager who saw some shady characters in and out of a room with "young looking girls." My buddy was the responding officer. Nothing violent occurred but in the end 2 guys ended up cuffed and booked, 3 underage girls were remitted to CPS. It ended up going up the change to FBI and DHS/HSI. More busts and they moved up the food chain.

You're going to see more and more of this. Patel has already said its a top priority and he's taken the muzzle off the bureau after being neutered for the last 4 years, potentially more.

This has been going on for a long time. I know, factually, that DHS/HSI and other agencies contracted some recce work to PMC's on both domestic and foreign soil. It has been speculated there was more to it than that but I can only vouch for the recce.

You are actually quite right. There is a lot the public don't know about child sex abuse and lots of misunderstandings about it. Here are some things (related to your comment) well supported through multiple studies:

- the rate of child sex abuse in N.A. public schools is higher than the rate of child sex abuse in the Catholic Church. Often significantly higher.

- the rate of child sex abuse is pretty even across all religions/denominations in North America.

- the rate of child sex abuse is roughly the same between religions that allow their leaders to marry and those that don't (meaning that the prohibition on marriage is not likely a causal factor in those individuals abusing children).

This is another quickly developing area. However I would caution that while exciting LE busts etc of child sex rings etc is very compelling it won't solve the problem in the long term.

One of the keys to prevent this kind of abomination is cutting it off at the root. A large proportion of victims of sexual trafficking that originate in North America were sexually abused in their domestic life before they became victims of these organized crime groups.

The best thing you and I can do to help with this problem is to be very vigilant locally, and not be shy about reporting our concerns to the correct authorities no matter the status or reputation of the people involved. The RCC abuse went on for decades (centuries?) in the dark because people would not question the actions/intentions of priests. No group/person should get a pass from scrutiny based on their status.

@steve white
I like to give them two options after my sentence.
The sentence being
Place them in a wooden she with a vice welded to a 300# table.
Place perpetrators penis in vice, tighten and remove handle then spot weld the jaws of said vice.
Pour 5 gallons of petrol/ coal oil over and in shed
Give perpetrators a blunt butter knife , lock door and light the shed.
Options
Cut it off or burn in hell.
Fortunately that's me being nice. At least they get an option. They didn't give the victims and option
I was going to give them one option, no butter knife, just burn in hell but I am a nice guy after all.

@wildwilderness
That's being to nice in my book.
I don't play nicely with people like that.
I tend to get rather nasty.
If I was being nice I would offer to shoot them instead of my alternative.
