Denis is correct on color. always use live animals for reference! using a mount for reference is only as good as the person that did the work!

Live reference photos are great but as I said look at top notch taxidermists mounts also. Those who are winning competitions are not going to make a rookie mistake like eye color, in fact on competition work there won't be any mistakes in the winners circle !
