I have a Ruger #1 in 458 Win Mag and was thinking of reaming it 458 Lott. Thoughts and anyone have experience doing it?

It is the easiest rifle to convert to the 458 Lott, since you don’t have to worry about feeding issues. Also I feel the win mag reamed to Lott gives you a better chamber, as the win mag has more free bore.

The .458 Lott chamber with the .458 Winchester long throat maximizes the application of high tech monolithic bullets by allowing the longer bullets to be seated out further thereby preserving case powder capacity.

No real reason not to.
Even if you don't have it stamped or engraved as a Lott, 458WM will shoot just fine in it as well.

I handled an OEM Ruger #1 chambered in 458 Lott and I wouldnt shoot that with some elses shoulder, let alone mine! Then again I wouldn't shoot that rifle in 458 wm either.

No real reason not to do it. I would also strongly recommend adding a ton of weight to the gun while you are at it.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
