The Vortex Warranty

Just hope you don't have to deal with Leica or Zeiss' customer service. Leica tried 3 times to fix/repair/replace my 3200.com's and never could get it right. You will wait at least 6 months or longer for Zeiss warranty work. I'll pass. The Fury HD AB's I've been using are great.

I have a Swarovski rifle scope part being warranted right now, we will see how well they perform and the. I’ll do a report about that transaction

Was it the BT function connecting to the Kestral?

It was due to the fact that none of them would range past 600 yards in any weather condition. The Fury AB's RF runs circles around any Leica I've ever had.

10-4, mine have problems with feeds that have the sun beating on them. Mountains and trees was hitting 3600 and change. To hit the small targets I need to use the top of the aiming circle for it to work. I do find that if the sun is reflecting on the target it has a hard time ranging.

This is from a dealers perspective on the companies we deal with.
As some have stated, Leica terrible on warranty to deal with, usually 60 days or more if they will even take it back.
Zeiss is not as bad, usually 60-80 days as most they send back to Germany for repair.
Leupold I have a good relation with and usually repairs done in under 20 days or item is just replaced.
Swarovski is easy for repair and or replacement. I have a good rep that handles it. Usually within 15 days I can have it repaired of if it's an emergency within 3-5 days.
Vortex is the easiest I would say on warranty. I have a great rep. If it's an item we have sold and you bring it in to us and I have another one the shelf, I just replace it right then. If not, I call rep and new one arrives within 3-5 days and it is replaced. They pay all shipping and replacements.

We sell over 300 Vortex a year, mostly the Crossfire series with very few ever returned for warranty.
Leupold in the 200 plus a year.
Swarovski is around 250-300 a year.
This is from my perspective as a dealer. Hope it helps some of you.
Mark

The one thing that I often wonder about Vortex and their products is just how many come in for repairs that they have a refurbished store that sells their refurbished optics?

And I do have a couple of their products and for the price they are doing quite well.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ
