With today's kids they would have to consult with their favourite online influencer to see if it infringes on their human rights.
I can't do that sargent I might get hurt. Oh no a gun they are dangerous. You would have to have a sign in the end of the barrel for them saying CAUTION BULLET COMES OUT THIS END.
And god forbid, what I have to get out of bed before midday, I'm sure that infringes on my rights. Marching I can't do that can you drive me there please. And don't start me on the hand to hand combat instructions. They would turn to shit.
Sorry when it comes to a lot of kids I see now days I'm a cynical old fart that just wants to give them a good kick up the arse.
One day there was a group of 8-10 year olds smashing glass bottles on a brick wall in the local park behind our home. I told them to piss off or I would kick their arse. I was promptly told you can't do that mister that's child abuse.
I walked out the gate and when they asked what I'm doing I told them they were about to get the biggest dose of child abuse they ever got in their lives
Half an hour later two mummies and the kids turned up at my house wanting to know what's happening. I politely told them and got told I can't do that.
I asked my wife for the phone and told these idiots it was my day off so I would let my boss sort it out. They asked who I worked for and when I told them the department of community services and justice they couldn't get out of there quick enough. They never came back or misbehaved around my place again

A drill Sgt worth his salt wouldn't even take that long. More like 0.2 seconds It would be sorted before your feet hit the ground hopping off the bus.
I know it was in my day. Great trip from Sydney to the training battalion. The corpral was nice and friendly but being from a military family I knew what was coming.
As soon as the bus got thru the front gate the corpral light switch flicked. His first words after the gate was welcome ladies you have just come thru the gates of hell. All the new recruits were shitting bricks but I just smiled, then copped the wrath of the corpral. I found it hard not to laugh at the others as I knew what was coming.
They broke you then moulded you into a military person.
