There was a camera thread not too long ago, specific to taking photos in Africa. I shared I used an older Panasonic Lumix (I do not own a cell phone). It's light and takes very acceptable outdoor photos (at least to me; I am happy), such as posing with a harvest. What it doesn't do - or maybe it does and I just haven't figured it out - is take nighttime photos that even rise to the level of mediocre. I feel certain some of you got really good photos last night. I'm feeling in the mood for some mild humiliation so I'll share what I got, while hoping others share much better quality photos. I will say this: conditions were perfect. We had crystal clear skies and it was visible from my porch. Temps were somewhere around -10 and mostly calm.

Got up at 4 and peered out the window. It looked like an orange waning crescent. I'll be dirt the next time around.

Was supposed to be from 8pm to 11pm here last night but cloud cover kept it from view

It somehow unnerved the dogs, and both decided at 0302 that we needed to get up and see it. Very cool.

Our weirdest Lunar eclipse event occurred in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia back in the eighties. Every neighborhood in Riyadh has a mosque and every mosque has loud speakers from which the call to prayer would blast forth five times a day. Unlike some Islamic countries, it was not done in a melodious chant, but rather shouted. Our local Imam had a particularly unpleasant screech. Setting dogma aside, it truly put church bells in a very favorable light.

As I remember, the eclipse began around eleven PM and lasted a bit over an our. The Imam bellowed out a prayer for every second of its duration. I could have cheerfully shot him by the three quarter hour point.

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
