After reading @AZDAVE 's post about the new arrival - I thought I'd better get the little Chapuis out today for a bit of offhand plinking. ;)

Always a lot of fun, gave a couple of friends their first experience of a double - smiles all round.

Caliber? Very impressive target, what distance?

Thanks @375 Ruger Fan

9.3x74R

That target was just at 25m - but the rifle will deliver similar groups at 50.

pretty good target mate. I didn’t know you had a UGEX. I bought one a couple of weeks back. Hopefully I’ll have her home in a few days.

Is yours an extractor or ejector ? And what load are you using?

Hey Rod - thanks.

Nice - your efforts in keeping the local firearms industry thriving are to be applauded. :ROFLMAO:

Mine is ejector and regulates OK with 62.5gns of 09, S&B 286gn pills for plinking / BGR. It's too cold to go the garage and check COAL.

Havn't got around to putting these through the chrono yet.

You going to use yours at the Qld BGR Titles?

I’ll be shooting the BB 97C at the Queensland titles. I’m also taking her to Perth for the National titles in September. Just using PPU factory ammunition in her. It shoots well with both scope and iron sights.

The Chapuis will have to sit in the safe until later in the year.

Nice - what scope you using?

I love Chapuis double rifles. I have owned several and all have been great shooters. I'm sure your friends enjoyed the opportunity to shoot a double rifle and maybe gave them the DR disease!

Nice shooting

Very nice wood on your double.

thanks Dave - yes I'm pleased with the timber on mine - the website says the ejector models have a higher grade stock.

Hey Odinsraven. Is that post from Jefferry 404 legitimate? I don't know him. Thanks!

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
