Has anyone watched the PBS series American Revolution. Very good detail on key battles, politics, key individuals. As stated. It was actually our first Civil War. Citizens and families pitted against each other. Even Native Americans were split on who they supported.

For PBS they do a nice job of not getting too negative about our early failings. Although I wish during those topics they shared for the ill informed people that what we beat ourselves up for was not started by us and was common throughout the world.

But the show is very educational and would be great to show young U.S. citizens what people gave up to give us this country. Warts and all.

I’m enjoying it too. I recorded the series and am watching it when I have time. Ken Burns does such a great job making the past relevant to us.

I caught some of it but need to watch it start to finish. It seems very well done.

Rick Atkinson's "Revolutionary Trilogy" is well-rated. I read THE BRITISH ARE COMING and must read the second, THE FATE OF THE DAY, recently published.

I've always enjoyed Ken Burns documentaries. However, a few years ago I got invited to a reunion of Vietnam veterans, guys my dad served with, and they absolutely despised the Ken Burns Vietnam documentary.

Yes, in my opening post. I share how I’m surprised that PBS would consider making such a documentary. And how they weave the typical Narrative in. Most of us are used to the Woke drivel by now.

I still think the 95% positive content is worth the watch. I enjoyed the details shared of many of the battles. It even shows what a rare and special person George Washington was. Not just some mythical character.

I've seen all sorts of history fims, documentaries, shows, and this series was one of the better series I've seen.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
