Ha! Sudan. Nah....
What is there to know about hunting in Uganda? I recall reports of lots of Buffalos, and a mature population with many older bulls.
Are there many outfits that operated there? Any recommendations?
Any species in particular that are found only in that area? What about the Big 5?
I would be interested in Bowhunting and it seems like a newish opportunity to hunt game that is not as spooky as other more pressured hunting areas?
If you start trying to bounce around areas in Uganda it can get pricey in a hurry. There is a lot of speciality plains game throughout the country that one could target. How do the Prices compare to other countries? If it is on the higher end do you think it is worth it?
Ask him about the drums! I remember when I was up near lake bunionyi on a Sunday all you could hear was these drums and loads of singing.Yes, the people are very friendly. My brother-in-law is there right now (something to do with a church) and will be reporting back I'm sure.
My experience as well. Also, the best bushbuck hunting I have done…that includes 10 other trips with bushbuck on quota.I recently got back from a fantastic hunt with Uganda Wildlife Safaris booked through Tim Herald. I'm going to post a hunt report soon, but I will say I saw more buffalo my first afternoon in Karamoja than I had in my previous 5 safaris combined.
Oooo....that's a rare one. I know Jim Shockey took one with great effort but that's the only one I know of for certain.Tried for a Sesse Island Sitatunga but no dice.
Post up some pictures! My experience as well. Also, the best bushbuck hunting I have done…that includes 10 other trips with bushbuck on quota.
Also, the easiest buff hunting yo will do. Very different from Zim and other wild places. All spot and stalk. No real tracking and no long hikes.
It is similar to “drive around” deer hunts.
You should see hundreds of bulls in a couple of days.
I took pics of at least 20 bulls over 40” in a short time.
Would you hunt buffalo in Uganda again? I opted for a PG hunt because I thought the buffalo hunting experience was missing for the price. My experience as well. Also, the best bushbuck hunting I have done…that includes 10 other trips with bushbuck on quota.
