I just had an OUTSTANDING contact with Swarovski-Optic "Advanced Technical" customer service. A few years ago I got an STS 20-60x spotting scope for my son. Recently i got the TLS APO attachment for attaching an SLR camera. The two didn't match- The instructions said a DRSM adapter sleeve was needed. checking the usual outlets (Eurooptic, OpticPanet,B&H,etc) no one listed the adapter. I called Swaro-Optik US customer service. I got the first lady and explained the issue- she said that was over her level of expertise and transferred me to "advanced technical". The second lady knew exactly what I had (she also knew who I was, my address & related info since I have made pervious purchases from them) and what the issue was. She said that the model scope that I have was being phased out, replaced by a different but similar scope, so that they no longer included the adapter sleeve with the DRSM kit. However, they had the sleeve in stock and she would package one up and ship it out so that I should receive it on Thursday. I asked about payment- NO CHARGE- it would have been included in the original kit and that I was a valued customer. Okay, WOW, such deal!! You can tell I was impressed by the knowledgeable and generous department and lady.

I can't brag on them enough either. I have several Swarovski products, and my PH asked me if I could get him some caps for his binos, called in lady told her the scoop and she overnighted free of charge.

They are an amazing company, their customer service is amazing but what I like most is the years of hard use you get out of the products with no trouble. I finally had to send a pair of 10x42 binos in after they went for a swim with me in an Alaskan river and they finally leaked after years of use from -40 to 110.

Via email they are amazing. On the phone with an issue not very reassuring.

@Rem280 - Not sure about that, i was on the phone with two ladies, the second was very knowledgeable of the issue, said a part would be sent- I got an e-mail with the tracking number and it shows the part was picked-up in Cranston, went to Providence, RI and departed 7:05 EDT with expected date of delivery next Monday. Pretty good, I'd say.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob
