Next May I'm going to the south end of the Alaska peninsula for brown bear and will be in a tent out in the bush. I have a serious problem with insomnia, but the CPAP machine does wonders for my sleep, of course there will be no electricity out there. So I am wondering if anyone knows of a solar generator that could charge a battery pack(that's what I used in Africa this summer) big enough to run the CPAP. There will probably be very little sunshine up there.

Can't help much but have you talked to your outfitter about it?

These are great, battery, inverter and solar charge controller built in. You can charge it from your cigarette lighter plug or hook up a solar panel. Also charge phones and run small appliances. They do have bigger capacity units as well. Just do the sums on how much power you need to get through the night and get the appropriate size. This unit is under 400 bucks.

If you dont use heatet pipe and water to regulate humidity you probably use 150w, so 10 hours = 1500wh. There is no chans you could do airtravel with so large battery = you have to talk with the PH and outfitter.

Mine for travel is the Air Mini and it uses no wher near that. More in the 8-10w range. But to the OP's question there are a ton of battery bank options out there but withought much sun you are going to be reliant on a cig lighter or generator to charge it.

One thing that helps with power consuption is to buy an aftermarket cable that connects your machine directly to USB C. Then you are DC to DC, not need to invert from a battery, then run AC power through the converter that came with your machine. Amazon has all worts of options.

Most just run their machine off a deep cycle battery while off grid.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.
