Single Shot Saturday - Show us your Single Shots!

Newest to the collection. Only about 974 or so Gibbs singles, very few were fitted with Selous plates, mostly 461 , just a few are known in 303, sighted to 800 yards. Here’s one to enjoy.

I added this one to the collection of Single Shots.

Ruger #1 75th Anniversary in 270 Winchester.

Number 25 of 75 that were produced to celebrate Ruger's 75 Anniversary.

I usually don't make rifles into safe queens but I suspect I won't shot this one and I'll look for a new home for her in a few years when I can make a few bucks on her to fund a hunting trip.

There is another one in this series in a Johannesburg gun shop in 308.

Thank you for posting . The Gibbs Farquharson falling blocks were the best of all . In 303 and doubtless with Metford rifling - a great combo . Can’t take my eyes off the Selous plates and all the perfectly timed screw heads . Just superb .

I hope I don't offend anyone, the only feature that qualifies this rifle is that it is a single shot.
It is based on an Omark 44 action that was used for full bore competition, originally chambered for 308W or 7.62 NATO if you like. The locking lugs are machined into the end of the barrel, so to rebarrel I used the original barrel to make up an adaptor so I could screw in a 6mm barrel. It is now chambered for 243AI, which is OK for large marcupials (with a permit) preditors and possibly a Hog deer.
Will be interesting to see how it shoots, I made up an alloy bedding rail and it does have a match triger.
The stock was hand calved out of a block of Tasmanian Blackwood. At this point it only has 1 coat of red oil.

And a photo of tonights dinner - chuncky beef with marrow bone and a nice bottle of Shiraz.

You can put me down for the Best’s Great Western Shiraz . A particular favourite of mine . I always drop in there when I am staying in Dunkeld . I’m pretty partial to the Seppelts Great Western Reserve Sparkling Shiraz too .

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
