I hear they are not that accurate. Anybody have groups to share. My RSM 416 rigby is ok but not great. Just snaged 150 400 grain A Frames I will try those.
Thanks for sharing.

I’ve shot clover leafs at 100 with a stock Hawkeye African in 375 Ruger made 2-3 years ago

Found an old pic of a 3 shot group

My Ruger RSM 416 Rigby is a real shooter with 400 Grain A-Frames & Barnes solids printing in the same place at 100 yards consistently putting 3 shots in 1 1/2" @ 100 yards.

Not that this type of accuracy is critical for the type hunting the rifle is intended for...

It's not a pleasant rifle to shoot off of a bench and this can have a signifiant impact on group size.

I had good results with factory Hornady and Swift 300 grains in the 375, haven’t shot a 416R but expect it should do you well

These are two 100 yd groups with my 270 African. They are both 140 gr loadings; the tight group was with a fine-haired Swaro I use to develop loads while the second was with a 1-6 heavy duplex scope I use for “hunting”. I love the rifle but wish it wasn’t so heavy…close to 9 lbs with a scope.

My Hawkeye Africa in 375 Ruger regularly shoots groups like this with Hornady factory ammo. It’s had a nice full glass bedding job and I know it will shoot better with hand loading.

Accurate or not is a very subjective thing. Accurate in relation to what? Is the follow up question.
First thing I would do if I had questions about the accuracy of my rifle.
Is ask a friend to shoot it who is familiar with shooting high recoil guns and is a known decent shot.
If it performs better. Its you thats the issue
If it performs the same its the gun.

Also assuming you dont reload. Try different brands/weights of ammo. Some perform better than others in a given rifle.

Also pillar and glass bedding a stock is always a good idea and depending on the rifle/stock free floating the barrel.

Just my .02 for what little its wortg

I had a 9.3x62 I sold about 10 years ago. It shot inch groups for 5 shots at 100 yards. With the dead mans horse technique in the 3-9 that was on it, I was able to ring a 10 inch steel platel at 400 with the bottom of the crosshairs.

What bullet did you use in that rifle?

My late 1990's Ruger RSM M77 MK I in .375 H&H shoots real well with most ammunition, it's a bit of a safe queen, having not been shot a lot and never traveled overseas.

.416Rigby RSM - 50yds, open sights with shooting sticks.

Hornady ammo was OK, but hand loaded Woodleighs were spectacular.

Been a lot of years. Seller and Bellot probably. I had just retired from the military and didn't have a real job then. Would have been the cheapest thing.

The 286 bullet.

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
