Shooters under attack in Australia

staunch pro-gun, commone sense immigration people need to run for office. focusing on these two items actually spills over and addeesses many more problems that western countries are having. people need to rise up and get involved politically.
@double rifle newbie
We have a few pollies that are anti immigration and fun lovers that are making big noises.
Even Jack boot John Howard that banned a lot of our guns in 1996 has come ot saying it's not a gun problem it's an immigrant problem. What a turn around.
Our problem isn't immigration it's the type of immigrants. Radicals bringing their shit with them.
We had a heap of women go to fight with their ISIS loving Australian husband's. They then had kids over there. The husband's got killed and now a tree hugging Penny Wong has got these women and kids back into Australia after being involved in this shit. Who's monitoring these people, that's right now one they were secretly bought back so they could live back here after all the radicalisation they went thru. A great recipe for future disaster. A lot of Aussies weren't happy for that
Immigration built Australia, America and other countries. They should be celebrated.
It's the radical causing the problems not the genuine people that just want a better life and embrace their new country and be part of it and defend it if needed.
Most of us can trace our roots back to immigrant ancestors be it free migration or forced ( slavery). So let's not condemn immigration but limit it to sustainable levels with far better screening to weed out the arseholes.

@Altitude sickness
Watching the news this morning there a big push back on the NSW govt proposed changes to the laws not only by gun owners but others as well, even some politicians.
As of 1pm yesterday the SSAA had 70,000 signatures opposing the changes. That's a lot of voters.
Bob
You got a link for that signing Bob?

As with every conceivable / perceivable problem that presents itself in life the core foundation answer never changes and any / all that try to complicate the answer as "more than", is themselves a branch of the problem and reasons for the problems perpetuation.

The answer is Education, because it can solve <insert any problem here>.

Whilst I agree with your philosophy it's very hard to
EDUCATE IDIOTS.

To help understand our idiot and compromised Prime Minister. He and a liberal politician Joe Hockey started the Parliamentary Friends Of Palestine, which the leader of the Federal Liberal Party, Susan Lay, joined. Apparently in the mid to late 90's he went on an all expenses paid trip to Palestine to meet Yasser Arafat. If I can find the links to the vids that show him there I will put them up. No wonder he will not call this a Terrorist attach and mention they are muslims.

You are going to have to find a way to teach the real dangers of disarmament to the population. Publish a list of the casualties in Russia, Hitler's Germany, China, Cambodia, heck--even Yugoslavia after the people were disarmed. Post the meme of the box full of wedding rings with the caption, "Before they took the rings, they first took the guns."

So they rounded up a bunch of radicals ...then let them go .....

"How do we educate those that do not want to be educated?"

Answer: "Show them. Australians need to see (routinely) other Australians being saved by guns."

The more times various little old Australian ladies [people that stand no physical chance against their aggressor] are seen (on the MSM by the rest of Australia) using a firearm for self defense to blast a home intruder out of their own respective front doors. The more that every Australian will believe (a) If she needs one I need one & (b) If she can do it so can I!

I prioritize having a firearm for self defense.
OVER
Acknowledging that an increase in firearms within a community leads to more firearm related deaths in that community.
BECAUSE
I want potential victims to have power over their aggressor because their aggressor always has initiative over their potential victim (makes the first move), I want to give the potential victim as much "advantage" over the disadvantage of having to take the second move/response in every engagement.

Kharn no can do over here. If you have a device of any sort, even a pick handle, ready to use to defend yourself and use it you will be charged with assault at the least. If you kill them then it becomes murder as you had prior planning, thought about it. That is Premeditation.

If you think that is F*&K you are correct but that is our legal system.

The weak point in your post is, "on the MSM". That is a BIG problem--our view is shut out of the MSM, as it is one of the first takeovers targeted by future communists, and they have been successful.

To change the law for the correct reason it must first be broken for the correct reason.
That's because liberal idiots are so open minded their brains fell out.
If they were so open minded then they would be open to discussion on the subject except they stone wall it "Gun Bad!" a lot of the time it's also "Tribal Mentality", if you're a part of one group your expected to <take this stance/do this thing> & sometimes at a deeper level it's just pure arrogance "I have made up my mind & my mind is always right, because being wrong is humiliating & weak of which I'm neither! To the grave with my decision!"

Re the breaking of the law, that has been done a few times and those who premeditated went to jail, those who just happened to be cleaning their firearm at 2AM did not. + we do not have enough right minded people in this country to get enough onto a jury to find the person innocent.

Not sure if it’s common knowledge but Australia has been struggling with “Radical Islam” for over 110yrs when a couple of ex Camel handlers, turned Ice Cream Man & a Bucther in 1915 shot up the Picnic train ?

Mass murder weapons of the day, a pair of single shots in .577S - 577/450 - Snider & Martini ?

View attachment 734124

Broken Hill, New Year's Day, 1915 was Australia's first terrorist attack

A little more info from the little town I call home.

There is a lot of info on the Picnic Train Attack. A terrible tragedy committed by terrible people.

The short version is that they were stopped by police and volunteers assisting the police that had the authority to take action.

Unfortunately it wasn’t soon enough but the cowards ambushed picnic goers on their way to an annual event. Back then you could even ride in an ore cart.

One of the proposed laws will be...

"Make Australian Citizenship a condition of holding a firearm license."

What effect will that have on Hunting Businesses and Overseas Clients?

Will it become like [current] Crocodile Hunting in Australia "No shooters, only observers, PH shoots."? Which is why I won't hunt crocs in Australia.

I am in the first state to be affected.

I think the issue is permanent residents non citizens.

There should be allowances (permits) for visiting sports shooters and hunters.

I’m not sure on the details but this is in part because the Terrorist was living here on a Visa and was granted a Firearms licence in the state that allowed him to purchase firearms.

I can’t get a license in my neighbouring state without being a resident. How does a non resident of the country get a firearm licence

As for Croc hunting it’s not an option sorry. I even considered going to Africa to hunt a croc as I think it is still importable.
