I wanted to announce that, starting in 2026, every African grade Chapuis double rifle (.375, .450-400 NE and .470 NE) will come with a free base and adapter for RMR red-dot mounts.
I was able to negotiate a great price with the incomparable Andy Larsson of Skinner Sights, and I am happy to be able to offer this added value to the double rifle community.
The way it's mounted is:
1 - Carefully unscrew and remove the front scope-mounting block in the quarter-rib. This requires a very fine screwdriver and it is often best done by a gunsmith, so as not to damage the engraved screws.
2 - Place the rectangular base in the now-open slot, and screw it in tight with the supplied Allen key.
3 - Mount the red-dot adapter on top of the base by tightening the adapter's two screws with the supplied Allen key.
If you have any suggestions on how to further improve my brand's value, in the immortal words of Dr. Frasier Crane, "I'm listening." ...As long as it's feasible and cost-effective, of course
