Rigby’s first 450 No 2 NE

Some pictures of the engraving (not done yet). I should say that I've added a Leopard to this hunt so if all goes well the Rigby 450 No 2 on its first hunt should take four of the Big 5. Very excited.

Thank you sharing this project with us. Waiting to see the finished project on what is going to be a stunning rifle.

Now the excitement really begins. As many of you know (and I'm sure have read the story) in 2023 I hunted Zimbabwe with Buzz Charlton. One of the cool things about the trip was getting to see the elephant Boswell, the 70 pounder, that lives in Mana Pools but wanders out from time to time. One of the times we spotted Boswell he was not far off the track eating the bark off a tree trunk. We got photos and videos of him. Here is one of the best photos.

Buzz believes that if Boswell manages to live another 8 or 9 years he has a good chance of becoming a 100 pound tusker. How cool would that be.

Since this gun is being built as an homage to Ian Nyschens, and since Ian Nyschens was an unpretentious guy (lots of times hunting in a loin cloth), I've kept this Rigby 450 No 2 double as plain jane as I expected was his.

But I did decide to embellish it just a little, and in the process immortalize Boswell as a thanks to showing himself to us numerous times while we were hunting. So here it is and Rigby absolutely knocked this one out of the park with bases loaded. I am totally thrilled.

If that is your understanding of "plain Jane", I'm curious what you would envision for a full embellished rifle! :E Rofl:

All kidding aside, that is some very impressive engraving. I'm usually not a big Bulino fan, so I'm mostly attracted to the amazing scrollwork, but this elephant engraving truly is well executed.

Absolutely beautiful!

Okay I had to look up "Bulino" :) and okay maybe it's not all that plain. Gonna be fun to hunt with.

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts
