I Put my soul on the Bible and take my chances not believing in all the other .
Seems to me you consider your preferred beliefs to be chosen with the understanding that there will be a payoff when you die. I wonder if God will be upset with you for squandering His gift of life to you, that is, for trudging through this life, doing things simply to increase what you see as an account with pay-off in the hereafter.

i just understand GOD and Jesus are real and through them life is eternal.
I am not trudging through this life though. Everyday is a blessing and I try to treat it as such.

Just my POV. I am 67 at 18 had a 100+ bible study in my home producing well over that number in salvation and 9 pastors today. My faith is the single most important thing in my life! Here is what I have learned; There are countless denominations that choose different parts to believe in while ignoring others which me personally I abhor!!! What I have chosen to do is ignore all of them and simply ask have they made the single most important decision you can ever make which is accepting Jesus as your Lord and savior? If the answer is yes I have learned not to get caught up in the rest whether catholic, Baptist, etc

@cwpayton - Since you apparently in the
The Bible says it
I believe it
That settles it
Camp
I'll ask you the same question I asked @3chunter :
Where are the four corners of the Earth?
But for Extra Credit I'll ask one more:
Does it seem to be something that a Loving God would do, considering complete knowledge that Eve and Adam would fail- that God would go ahead and continue where life was nothing more than a boot camp for eternity, given that per your understanding billions of people would be born destined to fail and spend eternity in Hell?
Extra Credit part 2: How many years in Heaven will it be before life on Earth is such a remote memory that Heaven seems the norm and you can remember nothing else? Maybe 10,000 years? 1,000,000 years? 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 years? Even at that, it would be just starting.
First let me explain that Im not offended by about anything on these post as you mentioned in a later post. I understand that everyone does not believe like me , henceforth we have '"debate" . I even realize there are some mistakes in translations and transcripts of the bible, having said that I believe Gods word is infallible and will be eternal arbitrator of right and wrong. Man is not so. I even made a mistake typing 1 time . Lol
Does it mean God is love and will not send millions to Hell? I think not, You may miss the point , God has done what is necessary to prevent man from eternal punishment, that is love ,to die for man to save man. But Mankind thru arrogance insist in his own rights and ways , by choice can resist to that end. Now there are 4 main views of hell, which are somewhat different, wont get into that, but Gods mercy is extended , but even that has limits see Romans 9-22 and 6-23.
How many years in heaven? none , nada , when you die or go to heaven time stops ,there is no more time. thus the word eternal, which we cannot comprehend.
AS for the four corners of the earth thats easy, its a metaphor, just like the foundation of the earth or the cornerstone,of the earth, mentioned in job 38-4,5,6. or the pillars of heaven.
may be some think its where colo. new mexico,, Arizona, and Utah meet together. Or
1 corner could be in Africa, I intend to check that out some more.
Point of context, we are finite God is not, his wisdom is incalculable ours is limited, we understand on a very limited scale, but we know enough to be responsible for it. When man became to arrogant and knowledgeable GOD came down and interfered and stopped it, [Genesis 11,] maybe we are approaching that point again. the ancient Mesopotamian text Eridu Genesis talks of the goddess Nintur commanding humans to build cities in one place maybe AI will demand the same.

With all the caps and exclamation points you read like you are raving, not discussing a subject about which we are largely in agreement. I would suggest again reading what I actually wrote.

I fully agree in the all powerful and all knowing nature of God. However, the latter of those attributes is just as important as the first or he would not be God. I absolutely agree with you that the universe is his creation - the product of his intelligent design.

But, and it is an important distinction, it is why I have no problem understanding that his design of the universe entailed billions of years and is still going on. God gave mankind the means to understand the breath and majesty of such a creation. Because he is all knowing, omniscient, he knows we would grow in our understanding of that creation - we are still growing in that understanding. That knowledge in turn frees believers from the literal bonds of cultural lore to a belief grounded in both faith and knowledge.

I would argue that a faith based solely on literal acceptance of such easily disproven cultural beliefs such as a young age of the earth is a prescription for denominational suicide as younger better educated members move away from the church. That can only occur because a portion of the community of belief is offering them a false choice between believing an impossibility or denial of faith. That is a choice created by man, not by God. Our all powerful and all knowing creator expects us to grow in our understanding of his creation, not lock ourselves away in the ignorance of the 17th century.

And yes, the 6,000 year old age of the earth was first calculated by an Irish Anglican Archbishop named James Ussher. Because of his reputation, his chronology was inserted into the King James version of the bible in 1701 by Anglican Bishop William Lloyd. As a result, for more than two-centuries whenever an everyday reader opened his bible they saw printed next to Genesis 1:1 "4004 BC." Lay readers came to accept that notation as literally as the rest of the Genesis story.

I am simply suggesting that in the 21st century it is no challenge to our belief to move beyond the mankind imposed chains of the 17th.
I agree "knowledge will increase as time goes on" but Im not as sure that knowing the age of the dirt and rock we walk on will helps us in our Knowledge of God and his plan for us.

This is new olds news ,but there is some more recent research and info release on the Shroud of Turin. I.E. the supposed burial cloth of Christ from the first CENTURY AD. I find it very interesting but have no formal opinion. Any comments?

Light has both wave and particle properties
True, and demonstrably so.

Answering another posted ? on the subject, yes, in a way light can have a “type” of mass. Light is usually defined as energy… but alas… E=m (cxc) :)

My faith is not dependent upon man's determination of the validity (or not) of some relic (or fake, as the case may be).

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

I understand some folks feel their faith is bolstered by such things. Their business, not mine. I will expose myself to the Word of God and pray the Holy Spirit will illuminate my feeble mind!

My $0.02

I agree with you, what makes it a little interesting is research says the imprint on it was made by some sort of burst of light or radiation ,other than that it is that a relic.

First of, I don't think God lives in heaven like we think he does. He lives outside space and time. beyond our mental scope of imagination.

He doesn't play by our rules and do what we wish because it is morally right to us.

Our lives means nothing to him

And the most important and definite thing i know about God is that he does what he place for his glory. what we call grace or blessing is being align to what he desires.

I believe he is reachable and findable if you seek him.
