red dot on a merkal double?

hi guys, im wondering if its worth trying a red dot on my new merkal double in 9.3x74r ? and what people suggest regarding what reddot site to try and how to mount it? i have a merkal DB140 it appears to have the design to mount scope? but i dont want to put a scope on it but thought a red dot could be a less ghastly look on it and get a bit better / easier shot placement on targets over 50mtrs.

any advice, ideas, yays or nays etc is welcomed. thanks

I've been very impressed with a Trijicon RMR red dot that I fitted to my Kreighoff double, I found it very usable out to 100 yards, sorry I cannot comment on mounting it for you.

It is well worth the investment.
