Red dot for 375H&H

May not apply and on the surface seems unlikely or impossible… but I’ve seen significant parallax in some reflex sights. Something to be aware of. IMO, low powered conventional scope with good exit pupil and eye relief is better for that rifle.

I have a small to meduim scope for it aswell but would love a reddot for backup

Having the scope and reflex sight mounted in quality QD mounts is the key. My question is why not use the existing iron sights with the primary being the scope?

My old 375H&H had a Leupold 1.5-5 on it in QD rings with the iron sights as my backup. Worked great for me. My current setup is similar with a primary scope and irons for backup.

Proper practice with both the scope and irons is the real key. Do that and you will save the cost of the reflex sight and can spend it on practice ammo.

I have a holographic red dot on a browning Buckmark and it works pretty good but it's not a cheap one. It's made by C-More Systems.I also have a Ruger MKI T with an old Bushnell Phantom 2.5x which I like better. As far as speed, I prefer iron sights on a handgun, may work pretty good on a rifle though.

When it comes to speed, the RDS is king. That's why top competitors use it. It is a scientific approach that your eye is draw to the red (just the way our eyes work).

I have a G&H sidemount with a 4X Leupold Alaskan-backed by another Leupold fixed 4X on a companion set of G&H rings/mt. Both interchange. Backing that is a Lyman WJS that sights just nicely under the mount.
All on a pre-64 Model 70 in 375 H&H. Iron sights work in Africa and Alaska. Its a tough rig designed to function when everything goes wrong....
