Professional Hunters - What rifle do you carry?

Dangerous game I like a client to carry a .375 most seem to shoot them well and it is that first shot that counts.
Plains game a 30 calibre(I have a soft spot for a .300win mag)
Plains game I carry a .375 H&H with 270 grain Hornady dangerous game.
Dangerous game .458 wm 475grain solids.
Getting a .458 express built.

seem to have not many answers, as the question asked is what calibre the PH would like to see clients carry for the hunt they were doing. most answers are what the PH carries.....:)

It must have been late when you were reading this Mike.

I did ask about the rifle the PH carries.

The original question in the book was about the client.

Sorry mate, I did not read that.

None of the PHs where I hunted in 2011 in RSA had guns with them when I hunted PG.
It was Buffs and Rhinos there.

I think it all depends on the area you hunt we encounter Ele on a daily basis and you never know with them things........

My best always

In which countries do these fellas practice their craft?

Welcome aboard KR! That rifle of yours has a lot of family history and character about it. You ought to post a picture of it for all to enjoy.

I noticed he did not mention his true choice for backup!
At longer ranges it is not great, but close up, devastating! :)

K-Rat rolled a running jackal we were both shooting at one morning and our Bushman tracker was trying to follow up with two softball size rocks clutched in each hand. I would have loved to seen him in action but we never located the jack.

I still wish that I had a video camera to capture the action preceding this picture being taken.
It was an spectacle of truly incredible proportions!
