Politics

If this “band” wins in court the North Atlantic will be the maritime reincarnation of the Wild West. The commercial fisherman will just be able to self identify as indigenous and fish year round. There will be no need for seasons anymore.

What was it foghorn leghorn used to say “luckily I keep my feathers numbered for just such an occasion”
Like managing moose resource here is impossible because Natives can hunt anytime, any day, anywhere, and utilizing any method. Jacklighting from snow machines and ATVs is their preferred method. The notion that they are inherent conservationist in union with Mother Earth blah blah blah is fiction. Read "Keepers of the Game" (by Whiteman as I recall - no pun). The HBC records are full of agents' lamentations over the wastefulness of their Native workers harvesting everything they could with no thought to conserving. Often resulted in HBC having to scrounge into their own supplies to keep their labor supply from starving during winter. Needless to say, his book stirred up quite a storm. It was essentially banned from most Canadian history courses at our universities. Reverse racism at its best. Remake history. Kinda like what Trump is attempting to do with the National Parks.

Edit: Correction, "Keepers of the Game" author is Calvin Martin

Same here the so called stewards of the forest hunted the Cape Breton moose population down enough in the couple years following the allowance of self management that the entire hunt had to be closed. High seats mounted in truck beds and forestry roads were their preferred method there.

Alabama, Florida, and Louisiana, have opened investigations into Fauci.
Waste of resources. Fauci, regardless of what one thinks of him, was a Federal employee doing his job. Also, he was working in an advisory capacity and whatever decisions that were made by the Federal government in regard to mandates etc. we’re made by the executive branch.

States do not have jurisdiction here. Imagine if blue States opened investigations into members of Trump’s cabinet some years down the line?

We got resources to waste for that. The process is the punishment in this instance. I’d make his life a living hell

Risky though. Cops show up and all they see is a firefight in progress. Which one with a gun do they shoot?

I hope to crap if that were me, I'd be thinking about the people who are actively being shot at, not what might happen when the police get there.

When seconds matter police are minutes away

Blue states have Done that to Trump and some of his supporters. New York, Georgia.....and they will continue to do it. Your argument is weak.
If anything they should try to bankrupt Fauci, just like they did to many of the Trumpsters trying to defend against the legal onslaught of the left.
In my world, turn around is fair play.
Problem is that many Republicans are too soft. In today's political landscape you have to be mean and vicious, just like the Dems.
Match them....blow for blow, and start making examples out of them.

And yes. .if you can't convict on some, at least make their lives a living hell. Just like the left has done to so many
Nice guy politics accomplishes nothing.

I think it was in Vegas, but not sure about the locale, where cops arrived and killed the guy that had stopped the shooting.

Edit: It was CO.

So, basically you are after revenge rather than justice. Where does it end, as power shifts at each election cycle?

Regardless, I don't think States have the standing to go after a Federal employee especially when he wasn't even in their State when decisions were being made.

Can States prosecute Trump for causing gas prices to go up, for servicemen deaths due to his decisions? Can they prosecute Kennedy for measles deaths? Every action Federal government takes has winners and losers depending on who is on power. If States could go scorched Earth after their opponents leave office even less things would get done.

Revenge or justice.....I'll settle for either
Faucis pardon only covers any crime committed at the federal level.
If a state AG can prove Fauci violated a state law and can take jurisdiction over the defendant, then they have legal standing.
I think the outlook you have is highly skewed.
Just about every leftard blue state wanted to go scorched earth on Trump, and wanted to sue him for everything under the sun. 100's of lawsuits and attempted convictions.
In case you haven't noticed, there is a political war going on in this country, with the left bound and determined to win at any cost, including escalation of violence.
Who do you think will ultimately win that war, Mr. Nice guy, or Mr. Vicious?
We can't keep giving these people a get out of jail free card, because they won't give one to us.

It is the other way around. They have to have standing and then try to prove Fauci violated a State law.

If you remember all the State prosecutions of Trump were due to his direct actions (fraud etc.) that violated State law. He is a convicted felon as found by the jury for violating NY State law before he was elected as POTUS.

In case of Fauci I fail to see how they can stretch State law to someone doing their job as a Federal employee.

There is a reason ICE told CA to pound sand when CA passed a law criminalizing wearing masks by law enforcement. Federal law trumps State law and States can't dictate how Federal employees do their jobs.
