Tucson has been turning into a mini L.A
Saturday I saw 2 homeless people having sex right next to a side street. I'm not certain, but I think it was 2 dudes.
It's nauseating to see what this city is becoming.
Unfortunately it’s not just LA , but vast areas of California.
I went to LA to visit my sister and her children, two days of walking around in needles , human waste, prostitution, finally I thought we-were escaping the madness by taking a train to the hurst castle in San Luis obisbo, 300 miles down the railway was the same thing as LA , drugs, human waste, trash everywhere, tent cities full of zombies , solid zombie land with out a single area full on both sides of the railroad.
I moved from Houston because I got sick of the naked zombies under the bridges and using our office entrance as a bathroom! My wife had a executive job in Las Vegas before we got married and she called me to come help her with moving her Texas
I told her I was leaving Houston and she should search for a job in San Antonio
Bottom line is any city , county, state controlled by Democrats is a hell hole

San Antonio and Bexar County are D controlled. And SA city council has 4 DSA members out of 11. And city politics has always been a shit show, which is why everyone wants to live in a bedroom community, but as long as your electric is supplied by CPS you are still screwed by the City. Unfortunately, County government is now just a screwed as the city. I will be glad when my last property in Bexar is sold. Never going back to that shit show again except when and if I have to be hospitalize. Unfortunately, the D's want to move away too and FU the small towns too.

Screw worm case in Texas, hopefully they can get on top of it

Not just LA or California, once beautiful Asheville N.C. has become awful as well!

I don’t care about screw worms, but I really care about the fear, uncertainty, and doubt of screw worms. America can’t handle any excuses to increase the price of beef at the present.

All my neighbors are serious row croppers with hobbiest beef herds. I beg them to sell now, but as is normal of farmers they will only sell low. Over the long game, beef is overpriced and there is way too many suppliers. Sell high! Go back to core strength of row cropping!

I have cows.

Cattle prices have been so high that many ranchers have sold.

(as have I)

It's going to be a while before there is much supply.

Week old holsteen bottle calves are bringing 1200-1600 dollars here five years ago I could have bought them for 20-30 dollars and at times they could be had for free.

Feeders are bringing 6-7 dollars a pound these prices are unsustainable the consumer cannot afford these prices.

Locally the market for meat rabbits ,Cornish crosses and pigs have exploded which is a sure sign that those who raise their own meat over the summer have turned away from summering feeders and are finding alternatives.

This could be a local phenomenon as we had two very dry summers in a row which lead to hay shortages and inevitably leads to the butching off of excess beef stock and drives the price up, however the upswing has held for a longer than usual time in my experience which leads me to believe the uptick may be hear to stay.

Yep even the good old days of Kendall county/ between boerne and sisterdale are now gone after being eaten by San Antonio

This isn't going to improve, IMHO. His vanity will not allow him to do anything that would help it improve.

Who the hell are these people that change their opinion every time the wind blows? No man worth knowing is that fickle.

Not to say that there aren’t people like that. Just saying I don’t care to know them.

Beef prices are high because a good swath of the US has been under drought conditions for quite a few years now and herd numbers are way down. Imagine if screw worms got into a 25k head feedlot or spread to numerous ones via an auction.

Like I said, for the ranchers sake, I hope the proper authorities can get out in front of this.

Look at the Polling source!!! It's The Economist- The name should be The Communist or at a minimum The Keynes Review. Naturally they will obtain results that agree with their goals.

This article says otherwise.

Doubling the supply takes 4 years, minimum. The problem is beef is like tobacco…if you price it too high for too long without an ample supply, people lose their addiction.

I like a steak as much as any man, but I will never pay $7 for ground beef. It isn’t that good. Pork and chicken at $1 a pound is a better value. The real danger is when beef outprices lobster, crab, and lamb which it has. Luxury food is cheaper than beef!

A collapse will come. The only thing keeping beef special is its timeline to rebuild herd numbers.

In my area, they are so overrun with hay they throw it away moldy in round bales after three years. There is less need for hay than there are animals to feed it.

This week I bought prime brisket at Sam’s Club for $4.88lb. Yet the local market demands $7 for ungraded ground beef and an average of $9 a pound for a side of beef. It’s a terribly overpriced, low quality product. The math doesn’t math at all.

That definitely plays a major roll. It also doesn’t help that the four major packers can control the prices and keep them high regardless of how much beef were to get brought to them.

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?
