I’ve yet to see anyone make a convincing biblical argument justifying the American Revolution. The context of Aaron’s post was in response to my post about reading Romans chapter 13.

You would have been a Tory. The colonists discussed at great length the whys and wherefores of justification for the revolution. They answered the question to their satisfaction, not subject to the Politics section of AH! Best original references, resources and original manuscripts of the Founding Father's works are housed by WallBuilders, a wonderful site to visit and research.
There you can find the reasoning for "No king but King Jesus" that became a motto. One readable tome on the subject is a wonderful book entitle "The Light and the Glory" by Peter Marshall jr.
Having come through a decades long battle in the Southern Baptist Convention that over 40 yrs ago decided that it would take the conservative side, I realize that there were, are and always will be liberals who are entrenched forever in their respective position. It is tiresome to argue with such, since, as Franklin stated, "a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still."
Summation, I choose not to reopen a new 30 yrs. religious war on a forum I have attended for the sole purposes of HUNTING AFRICA! But, like Quigley, just because I have no use for a colt doesn't mean I don't know how to use one.
A question: how smart was it for the North African Christians to be so passive that they allowed the early sweep of Islam to extinguish them, forever denying any survivors the right to even hear about Christ? I would say that Luke 22 is instructive where Jesus said, "If you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one." The context being that when He sent them out two by two, He protected them, but in the future they will have a roll in protecting themselves. Theodore Roosevelt preferred the militancy of Charles Martell and Jan Sobieski who PREVENTED such religious/political suicide.
You said, Christians should flee....question is, to where? We always hit a wall where there is no where else to flee. Certainly there is no other "America."
And why has no one chosen to reply to Peter's statement, "We must obey God rather than men"
Or why the early church decided in favor of martyrdom vs lighting a candle to signify that they were willing to obey Rome's edict (the government) and consider the Christian God as just one among equals in the Pantheon--thus sparing their lives? As to the Roman destruction of the Temple and the slaughter that went with it, I believe it was a judgment on the Jewish Temple for rejecting and crucifying their Messiah. There was no need for the Temple after Christ came and the Jewish religion had been apostate for years.

That said I’m not a replacement theorist. Read the through story of the Bible, Romans chapters 9-11 and Revelation and you’ll see God has not abandoned His people Israel and the Church most definitely has not replaced them. We’ve just been grafted in.

On the Civil War/War between the States, the south rebelled against the authority over them. A clear violation of Romans 13 and an entire people group were freed. The war had the appropriate outcome.

WHAT I would say to your 2nd paragrah ,is the question to be answered that will answer the other, is did the new covenant replace the old. and also is the olive tree Isreal or Christ in Romans 9. then that will tell who true Isreal is, in Rom. 9-11.

I think he’s spot on with that comment.

I will concede to the pope that the American President is probably far more likely to listen than the Iranian regime but there’s definitely an impression that both this pope and the last are far more worried about billionaires simply existing in the west than they are that a lot of people, including many Christians are being murdered in the Middle East and Africa by Islamists.

A lame duck last two years could be spent following up on DOGE findings, plus whatever Vance comes up with could it not? Why would that not be a great way to help the taxpayer and clip the wings of waste fraud and abuse going forward?
Also, could we not get some convictions on political malfeasance? That would be tremendously popular with the base.
Why not do these things rather than some new topic of the day. If Trump wants to be remembered well, he could not only concentrate on these areas, only doing a few important things well. But perhaps hardening the electrical grid, and replenishing rocket reserves/stockpiles of rare earth components for said manufacture would be the responsible path, whether or not popular.
